As a rule of thumb, her ability to grab Vantage and Wrath where other player phase nukes or Rescue bots can't is pretty much her biggest selling point. If you want her to go physical, her best option is to immediately reclass to Fighter, make her way through Mercenary, Brigand, Archer, and Warrior to grab Vantage, Death Blow, Hit +20, and Wrath, and then finish as a Sniper. This makes her a mixed phase physical unit who can delete single enemies on player phase with Hunter's Volley and reasonably nuke enemies on enemy phase with her class skills and Close Counter. If you want to make her a magic utility unit instead, reclass her to Monk and have her use magical weapons to make her way through Mercenary and Warrior before settling on Priest and Bishop as her likely final classes. While she can't really bring the full potential of Rescue out due to her trouble reaching Dark Flier, she can nevertheless provide defensive support with Rescue while having decent combat on enemy phase. You can also set her studying goals to Reason for the rest of the game if you want to try to make the long crawl from E to A through a bane; the rewards are Meteor for artillery strikes from the back line and Gremory as a statistical upgrade to Bishop. | As a rule of thumb, her ability to grab Vantage and Wrath where other player phase nukes or Rescue bots can't is pretty much her biggest selling point. Revision as of 22:21, 25 January 2023
It has been proposed that this page be split into Anna, Anna/Awakening, Anna/Fates, Anna/Three Houses, and (etc). Please discuss this change on the talk page or on Discord. Reason: It has long become clear that Anna's appearances across the series are no longer one character, and treating her as such is making the page really unwieldy. See the talk page for more details on this proposal. |

Anna (Japanese: アンナ Anna) is a recurring character from across the entire Fire Emblem series, save for Gaiden and its remake Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Across the series she and her many near-identical sisters have appeared in a diverse number of gameplay support roles—they most frequently recur as the proprietor of the Secret Shops—additionally, it is strongly implied that they travel the various Fire Emblem universes using Outrealm Gates,[citation needed] occasionally with a romantic interest, Jake. While Anna's facial features may slightly change from game to game, they are never seen without a sly smile, her index finger resting on her face, and with red hair tied back in a ponytail.
After twelve games and twenty-two years of minor support appearances, Anna first became a playable character in Fire Emblem Awakening while still reprising some of her roles from the previous games. She reprised her role as a playable character in Fates and Three Houses, as well as the spinoff title Fire Emblem Warriors.
Biography
Archanea
During the Archanean League's march to recapture Pales, Anna was living in a house in Knorda. When visited, she mentioned that Jake was working for theoretical Grust occupation forces as a ballistician, telling the visitor that Jake was not a bad man at all and asking them to pass on her well-wishes. This prompted Caeda to try talking to Jake, convincing him to defect and ally with Marth and the Archanean League; when Jake visited Anna, she encouraged him in this new endeavour, expressing her belief that he would only ever fight for a righteous cause.
Jugdral
In a village in Leonster, during the liberation army's fight against Bloom's control of the Munster District, Anna appeared before Laylea and gave her a Barrier Blade and mentioned that Jake had already departed to join the liberation war effort. She discussed about how he was fighting for her, and then remarked that Laylea looked as though she was doing the same.
Elibe
Anna was staying at the inn of Badon at the time of Fargus's challenge to Eliwood, Hector and Lyn. She gave them some advice on completing the gauntlet, which she in turn had learned from Jake, who was part of Fargus's crew at the time. She also asked that they pass her well-wishes on to Jake should they run into him.
Zenith
Unlike her sisters, this Anna is not a merchant, but is instead the commander of the Order of Heroes, to whom Alfonse and Sharena report directly.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light
Role
Anna runs the Secret Shops in Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light. Additionally, she can be encountered in a house in Chapter 11, where she discusses about Jake and hints towards his recruitment method. She also appears in the save and game over screens.
Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
Role
Anna reprises her role as the proprietor of the Secret Shops in Mystery of the Emblem, though her cameo in Knorda Market—now the ninth chapter—was omitted, along with Jake himself from Book 1 of the game.
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
Role
Anna runs the supply. In addition, she can also be encountered in a special event in Chapter 6 if Laylea visits a specific village southwest of Leonster; doing so will reward Laylea with a Barrier Blade. She will not appear if her village is visited by any other character; as such, her appearance is only possible if Silvia did not have children.
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Role
Anna runs the game's Secret Shops and the Link Arena interface; she also appears in the prompts to suspend the game and erase all saved data.
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Role
Anna reprises her role in running the game's Secret Shops and the Link Arena interface. In addition, she also appears in the prompts to suspend the game and erase all saved data.
If the player visits the inn during Chapter 16E/17H, the next chapter, Pirate Ship, will feature different dialogue just before the battle; instead of Dart explaining the presence of merchants on the ship, Jake will instead speak with the army.
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Role
Anna reprises her role in running the game's Secret Shops and the Link Arena interface. In addition, she also appears in the prompts to suspend the game and erase all saved data.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn
Role
Anna makes fewer appearances in the Tellius duology due to the lack of Secret Shops in these games, and she no longer appears in the prompt for the player to suspend their data. Instead, Anna hosts the in-game tutorial segments for the two games.
Fire Emblem Awakening
Role
Anna reprises her role as the traveling merchant who occasionally appears on the world map. In this game, it is explained how Anna makes multiple appearances: she has many sisters, all named Anna.
One Anna appears in Paralogue 2, trying to protect a village from a band of thieves led by Victor. Once Victor is defeated, this Anna thanks the Shepherds for the help.
The above Anna's sister appears in Paralogue 4, being targeted by Victor's brother, Vincent. If Chrom talks to Anna, she will agree to join the Shepherds once the paralogue is complete.
Depending on which paralogue was done first, Chrom will think the second Anna he helped was the same one he helped before, but she clarifies that the other Anna is her sister.
If Anna is unmarried at the end of the game, she will leave the Shepherds to continue her merchant life.
Another version of Anna serves as the game's ultimate superboss, fighting the player at the end of the secret route of Apotheosis.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Anna's joining chapter appears somewhat early in the game; combining that with her being a prepromoted Trickster with above-average stats for that point in the game makes Anna all but essential on the harder difficulties of Awakening, especially early game. Anna's healing and thief utility will be occasionally useful, but her main attribute is her higher than average strength and speed, allowing her to reliably dodge most early game Axe and Sword users. Even after her stats fall off in the mid-to-lategame, she can continue to contribute with healing support.
Overall Anna is a very good character for when she joins and can prove to be a valuable unit throughout the course of the game due to her starting above most other characters.
Fire Emblem Fates
Role
Anna appears in the second series of downloadable content in Fire Emblem Fates. She is recruited in the second map, Anna on the Run, after completion of the mission.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Anna can best be described as a jack of all trades, master of none. On the physical end, she possesses boons in swords, axes, and bows. This allows her to easily pick up high-value skills such as Vantage and Wrath for enemy phase combat, Death Blow for player phase combat, and Hit +20 for an all-around boost. However, she has no powerful combat arts to bring anything unique to the table. On the magical end, she gets the very useful Rescue spell at B Faith and has a boon in the stat, and she also boasts Meteor at A Reason, but she is let down by a devastating Reason bane. Her Authority bane is also deeply troubling and her Strength and Magic are atrocious. This combination of attributes means that Anna will never outshine the other members of your team, but she can also almost always find a way to fit into any team composition.

Anna/Heroes stats
This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.
There are three different variations of Anna available to Heroes, two of which are tied to her storyline appearance in Heroes and one of which is tied to her storyline appearance in Awakening.
As far as Heroes-based variations go, the normal variation of Anna is one of the characters available from the game's initial launch; prior to version 2.5, the normal variation of Anna began the game as a two-star unit, whereas players who first begin the game after the release of version 2.5 have her begin the game as a four-star unit instead. As the normal version of Anna is a unique unit, she cannot be acquired via summoning, nor can she be dismissed in exchange for Hero Feathers. A New Year's-themed variation of Anna was made available between the period of January 1, 2020 through February 6, 2020 as part of the summoning event surrounding the Renewed Spirit update.
As far as non-Heroes-based variations go, an Awakening-based variation of Anna, based on the Anna in charge of Castle Apotheosis, was added to the game in the Wallowing in Love update, and became available for summoning by players on June 5, 2020.
Fire Emblem Warriors
Role
Anna serves as Fire Emblem Warriors's "secret" playable character and is very likely to be the last character the player obtains outside of downloadable content. Her most prominent appearances are in her challenge maps in History Mode; she does not appear in the main story outside of when she opens her shops for the player to collect Anna's Mementos. The maps that unlock her are the highest level scenarios in the base game, though harder maps appear in some DLC and free updates.
Anna shares her moveset with Takumi, Sakura, and the downloadable content character Niles.

Personality and character
Up until Awakening Anna can be best described as playful. Awakening then changed Anna's personality to a greedy merchant who is always looking for a way to make money; her supports in Awakening and Fates most often have her proclaim her love of money and wealth. Heroes's depiction of Anna has her usually be more serious due to her position as the Commander of the Order of Heroes, though she does express her now-characteristic love of profit in some of the story paralogues, such as Bridal Blessings and Ylissean Summer.

Endings
Awakening
Anna, Secret Seller (single ending)
With nary a word, Anna left the others and returned to her free-spirited merchant life. She was later sighted across the continent, haggling with suppliers and beating down the cost of goods.
Robin, High Deliver & Anna, Secret Seller
Many wrote of Robin's legendary exploits, but accounts of his origins and character varied. Scholars, poets, and bards agreed on one thing alone—he loved his wife, Anna, above all else.
Fates
Anna, Secretive Merchant (single ending)
Anna returned to merchant life, revitalizing trade in parts of the world most affected by the war. Official records show how her network and name were passed down to the next generation.
Corrin, Crux of Fate & Anna, Secretive Merchant (Birthright and Conquest)
Corrin was hailed as a hero, working alongside his spouse to spread peace worldwide. His wife, Anna, continued to travel the world as a merchant. It is said the two were very much in love.
Corrin, King of Valla & Anna, Secretive Merchant (Revelation)
The two spent the rest of their lives together, Corrin ruling as the wise King of Valla. His wife, Anna, continued to travel the world as a merchant. It is said the two were very much in love.
Three Houses
Anna, Traveling Merchant
Anna's business savvy proved to be a great asset in the post-war reconstruction of Garreg Mach. Once the restoration was complete, she disappeared from the area entirely, though tales of a mysterious merchant were passed down in every corner of the world for centuries to come. Some say she continues her travels even to this day, eternally peddling her wares, and ever in search of the next lucrative opportunity.
Anna (if Anna was defeated in Part I in Classic Mode)
Got caught up in the battle at Garreg Mach and vanished without a trace, never to be heard from again.
