Heh. Sing like that again, and I might just let my comrade pluck out your tongue. Then again, my band of malevolent brothers is in dire need of amusement. So carry on. Scream your heart out. Top of your lungs now...
— Nichol, threatening a villager to pay a toll.

Nichol (Japanese: ナハト Nacht) is a character in Fire Emblem Fates. A Nohrian leader of a band of thieves, he serves as the boss of Sophie's paralogue. Nichol can be captured, and thus recruited, in all three routes of Fates. Like all other captureable bosses, Nichol has no supports or Private Quarters interactions.

Starting stats and growth rates

As Nichol appears in an environment where his level, stats, and weapon ranks scale according to the player's progress, the presented stats may vary from shown here. The figure to the left of a + or ~ (or not listed with anything, if that stat is known to not scale in that environment) correspond to a chapter 8 playthrough, the earliest possible point where he can be encountered in Birthright and Conquest (he cannot be encountered in Revelation until having reached at least chapter 18).
Normal difficulty: The stats with two values separated by a ~ denote a range; the figure to the right of the ~ corresponds to a chapter 23 playthrough, the point where this boss hits level 20 and stops scaling from there.
Hard/Lunatic: Stats with a + may be higher the further along one of the main story paths the player is.

Battle quote

What hope do any of you pathetic fools have against me? But you, friend, have an especially hopeful light in your eyes. Come closer. I'll be glad to extinguish it for you.
— Nichol's battle quote in paralogue 5

Death quote

It was... inevitable.
— Nichol's defeated quote
So hope triumphed in the end? Not cruelty? It seems I backed the wrong horse. Alas, no turning back now...
— Nichol's death quote

Trivia

  • Nichol possesses a critical cut-in portrait, a trait shared with Candace, and lacked by bosses that could be considered much more significant, like Iago and Hans. Additionally, his name is located among the names of characters that can exclusively marry Corrin[3] suggesting he had a more significant role before becoming a paralogue boss.
