The Seacomers/Script
Two years after Gangrel's defeat, at Ylisstol, a messenger from Flavia arrives for Chrom, bearing news of an invasion from the west by Valm. Leaving behind his newborn daughter, Lucina, Chrom travels to Castle Ferox. Flavia greets Chrom and informs him that Valmese warships have set sail for Ylisse. Basilio arrives with Virion, who introduces himself as the Duke of Rosanne, and he and his retainer Cherche recount how Valm expanded from a rump state into an empire with designs of Ylissean conquest under its emperor Walhart's rule. The Shepherds prepare to fight the Valmese at their landing, readying themselves for strong cavalry under Virion's advice.
The Shepherds narrowly beat back Valmese marauders led by Dalton. The group quickly realizes they will have no hope of driving off Walhart's forces and protecting the people of Ylisse and Ferox, leading Basilio and Robin to suggest entreating Plegia for aid. Chrom reluctantly agrees and orders a summit to be requested.
Summary
At Port Ferox, Chrom's men and the Feroxi barely repel the fierce Valmese attack. In need of ships to drive Valm off, they turn to an unlikely ally for help.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Once again, take a minimalist squad consisting of Chrom, Robin, and Cordelia. In addition to the promoted Bow Knights, beware enemies with Beast Killers, for they can clip Robin's wings in embarrassing fashion. Put Cherche behind Cordelia and have them head north up the east side. Their goal is to reach the safety of the northeastern corner of the map on turn 3. Meanwhile, Robin should kill the Knight with the droppable Beast Killer on turn 1, unequip her weapons as she heads north on turn 2, and take refuge in the gap between the dock and the boat on turn 3. Once every enemy with 2 range is dead, you've pretty much won the battle. Have Robin with no weapons equipped lure out the 1 range enemies, then pick them off from the safety of the ocean. Robin should finally hit level 15 in this chapter and obtain the coveted Galeforce, greatly increasing her player phase prowess. Any leftover kills should go to Cherche.
Upon completing this chapter, you unlock freely buyable Rescue staves. This is extremely powerful and should be abused to its fullest extent.
Trivia
- Discounting the bonus unit merchant mechanic, the shop at Port Ferox is only the second in the entire Fire Emblem series capable of selling any type of dragonstone (the first is a secret shop in chapter 14 of Book 2 of Mystery of the Emblem and its remake).
- This chapter's pre-battle cutscene features an NPC with a unique sprite. While this sprite is not used anywhere else in Awakening, it was later reused as the generic Villager sprite in Fire Emblem Warriors.
