The Radiant Hero (Japanese: 蒼炎の勇者 Hero of the blue flame) is the twenty-third paralogue chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening, and also the paralogue chapter with the highest number. As a paralogue chapter, its events are not integral to the game's main storyline and can be done at the player's leisure. It is one of a group often called the "SpotPass paralogues", as the chapter is unlocked via a SpotPass interaction and also requires beating Chapter 25 in order to play. This chapter is unlockable via SpotPass starting July 12, 2012 in the Japanese version, April 25, 2013 in the North American version, and June 11–12, 2013 in the PAL version.
In this chapter, the Shepherds go chasing after lore of Tellius off the coast of Valm and end up in a skirmish with Priam, who claims to be a descendant of Ike a legendary Tellian hero.

The Radiant Hero (Awakening)/Script
The Shepherds arrive at a hidden village rumored to house a descendant of the Radiant Hero Ike. As Chrom and Robin discuss what they know of Ike and the potential usefulness of a descendant of his, they are startled by Priam, who claims to be the rumored descendant of Ike. Chrom asks Priam to join in their cause, but Priam tells Chrom to prove himself worthy of his aid in battle.
After the battle, Priam accepts Chrom's request to aid the Shepherds. Before Priam leaves, a number of soldiers from the village approach him; Chrom notes that these soldiers seem to hail from all across Ylisse and Valm. The soldiers request one last match against Priam before he leaves, to which he accepts; Chrom further notes how equally Priam treats each soldier, and feels confident in his ability to aid in creating a better future.

Note: The returning characters list only those recruited by the time this chapter is unlocked. As a paralogue chapter, there is no set timeframe in which the chapter must be taken on; thus, it is possible to have recruited more characters than the above by the point the chapter is started. The returning characters list also does not include any characters recruitable in other paralogues, as the player may not have taken on any other available paralogue chapters yet. The list also does not include any bonus units, as they are recruitable at the player's discretion.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
This map is one of the hardest, if not the hardest, map in the game before DLC (Apotheosis). Enemies are incredibly strong and have good equipment, and more importantly, all 50 of them charge the player together, on turn 1. Even with 30 player units deployed to fight back, the sheer number of combatants can turn the battle into a bloodbath if not done properly.
On Lunatic, enemy stats are absurdly high. Offensive stats all ram caps, while other stats are all near-cap, if not at their respective stat caps. The only advantages the player gets are stat cap modifiers (if enough Second Seal grinding has been done), equipment, tonics, and Pair Up.
Every enemy has enough firepower at 1-range to kill even capped units in just a few combats, while 33/50 enemies can also do that at 2-range. This is terrifying, as since even capped units can only survive a few combats, the presence of many 2-range units makes it easy for player units to get picked off and die, even if they're deployed in a horizontal line to minimize 1-range exposure. Additionally, there are 7 Snipers with Longbows, who can shoot Nosferatu tanks without donating HP to them, producing a very real risk that NosTanks will die due to being weakened by Longbow chip and not having enough HP to tank enemy hits, especially in conjunction with 9 Warriors with Counter, who are lethal to Nosferatu users if they attack up close.
Since enemies use +8 MT forges, the only real game changer the player gets is Pair Up, and thus it must be the backbone of any viable strategy.
Solution 1: Galepairs + Rescue
Divide the 30 deployment slots between 20 units with Galeforce and ORKO capacity, paired together for 10 pairs, and 10 Rescue casters with high MAG and ideally at least 2-3 charges of Rescue each.
The plan is simple. On turn 1, the 10 Galepairs all move forward as much as possible, so after the enemies start charging, they are in attacking range.
On turn 2, the Galepairs all try to get as many kills as possible using Galeforce to thin out the enemy ranks. If they aren't enough to kill all the enemies, then they can all be rescued to safety and make another attempt next turn, as there is 1 Rescue caster per Galepair.
Solution 2: Water Pool Cheese
On the far left end of the map is a water pool. In that water pool are two tiles that can only be attacked by a Longbow Sniper each. A single, very strong flying unit can have Chrom pair into them and get onto one of those tiles. As long as they have Iote's Shield to negate effective damage, they can camp there and make hit-and-run attacks on the other enemies from those positions, bringing some healing skill to heal off Longbow chip until all Longbow users are dead.
Trivia
- This chapter is the only one of the SpotPass paralogues not to center around a character who apparently died along the game's main story path.
- It is also the only SpotPass paralogue to have completely different online summaries between the American and European official Awakening websites.
- This chapter has the highest potential player deployment in the entire series with 30 player units.
- This chapter is the one of only two in the vanilla Awakening game where every enemy unit has at least one skill on Normal difficulty regardless of conditions (the other being chapter 22).
- It is also the only such chapter on Normal difficulty where some generic enemy units have two skills.
- Despite Chrom mentioning that there is a Pegasus Knight and a Wyvern Rider among Priam's army, none of their advanced counterparts appear as enemies during the battle.
