Skill(s)

The Warrior (Japanese: ウォーリアー Warrior) is an advanced infantry class which debuted in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and has appeared in all games in the series since except Fates and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. It is the traditional usual promoted form of the Fighter, occasionally also serving as the same for Pirates, Brigands or Barbarians; in turn, in Radiant Dawn they can themselves promote to the third-tier Reaver class. They primarily wield axes, with the addition of bows in all games except Radiant Dawn and Three Houses.

As with their base counterparts, Warriors are defined by their colossal strength stat and their high HP, and in games which feature the stat their constitution is also very high. Although their speed is decent, they are primarily hindered by their relatively poor skill, which is compounded by the high weight and low hit of axes giving them on average less than ideal accuracy and avoid. Additionally, their mediocre defense and the low resistance endemic to physically-inclined units prevents them from making good use of their HP. Nonetheless, their sheer attacking power gives them a significant presence in front-line combat, especially if they are supported with healing units or terrain.

• Officially romanized as Warrior. This katakana rendering is used in all games prior to Shadow Dragon.
• Officially romanized as Warrior; literally "brave person". In Radiant Dawn, all Japanese class names are spelled primarily in kanji (i.e. 勇士), with a foreign-language name in katakana applied as furigana (i.e. ウォーリア) and used as the basis for the romanized name in the class roll.
• This katakana rendering is used in games from Shadow Dragon onward.
