Geoffrey (brother)

Starting class

People of Crimea... Behold a true queen! YOUR queen! Long live Queen Elincia!
—  Lucia, before she was to be hanged.

Lucia (pronounced /luˈsiə/[key][3]; Japanese: ルキノ Luchino) is a vassal to Elincia and the commander of the Royal Guards. She is the older sister of Geoffrey and is extremely close Elincia. During the events of Radiant Dawn, she was captured and almost hanged by Lord Ludveck during his final attempt of his rebellion. Before she was killed, Ike and the Greil Mercenaries freed her and defeated the rest of Ludveck's troops.

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Lucia is the last swordmaster to join, and is forced starting turn 3 of chapter 24. She is swordlocked so she wields the weakest weapon type and does not have reliable 1-2 range, so she cannot contribute much in enemy phase. She also lacks a mount and high mobility. She has high base skill and speed, able to double reliably and crit a lot (note that swordmasters have no crit bonus in the Japanese version). Her base strength is low for her join time, so she will struggle to deal meaningful damage without relying on forges and crits. She also has very poor durability, though her high speed gives her high avoid. She joins with an A rank in swords, so she can use Silver Forges.

Lucia has excellent growths all around, with very high growths in skill, speed, and luck, and decent growths in strength, defense, and resistance. Thus she can continue to double and hit reliably with decent crit rates. Her strength base is too low for her good growth to compensate long-term, so she will struggle to deal damage even with forges due to her weak weapon type.

Lucia has the Parity skill which negates terrain and skills and supports. As Parity is always active in Path of Radiance, she functions best without this skill so she can take advantage of her valuable earth affinity and terrain. Parity can be useful against some endgame enemy units that have skills; this is more significant in harder difficulties. Astra takes advantage of Lucia's high doubling and crit frequency, though Astra has a lower activation rate than other Master Skills, and it uses up weapon uses.

Lucia has an earth affinity which gives a massive avoid boost, complementing her natural speed. Janaff and Bastian also give a light avoid boost, though they have very different class types and functions. Ilyana gives an accuracy and defense boost, though at Lucia's join time, the extra defense does not fix their lack of bulk much.

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Lucia is a Swordmaster and the main character of Chapter 2-2; after Chapter 2-2, she is no longer available until part 4, where she is forced into Tibarn's team. She is one of the strongest units in 2-2; she is fast enough to double every enemy unit present, has high critical rates, has a powerful 1-range option in the Silver Sword, and has decent accuracy with the 1–2 range Wind Edge. However, Lucia is one of the least bulky units, though her high speed gives her reliable avoid—especially in hard mode where she does not face weapon triangle disadvantage. Lucia does not cap any stats on average in Path of Radiance, though it is possible for her to cap strength, skill, and speed, which can be valuable for her in Radiant Dawn.

When Lucia is next available, she joins underleveled at a point where most trained units are fully promoted. She can catch up and promote quickly with some bonus experience or a Master Crown. Lucia's skill, speed, and resistance growths are excellent and she can cap them very quickly. Through her high activation rates for critical hits and Astra, Lucia can be powerful offensively. Lucia's strength and defense growths are among the lowest in the game; her low strength can be mitigated with forges, and both can be mitigated through bonus experience after capping other stats. Lucia's use in endgame is limited due to swords' low might and her own low strength cap, though her decent resistance and earth affinity helps her durability against the many magic users.

Lucia has Parity innately, which is a valuable skill, especially against bosses and in the endgame; if Lucia is not being used for endgame, this skill is better removed and put on a different unit. Adept grants an additional attack when it activates—as it does so based on speed, it can activate for Lucia frequently. Resolve increases Lucia's speed and skill when below half HP, and can greatly increase Lucia's avoid and crit chance.

Lucia has an earth affinity, which gives a significant avoid boost. Due her awkward availability, Lucia's support options are limited, and will not be able to build support with many units. Another unit with an earth affinity will further boost her avoid, but no other units in 2-2 have earth affinity—Nephenee, who has wind affinity—grants an avoid boost, but benefits more from a support in the Greil Mercenaries through part 3. Lucia can work with another endgame unit with an earth, wind, thunder, or dark affinity.

Fire Emblem Awakening

Lucia is playable as a SpotPass character, released in the Path of Radiance character set. Lucia is also present as an enemy in the first and third installments of the Smash Brethren DLC series; additionally, Lucia appears as an ally in Smash Brethren 2.

Battle quotes

I have faith in you. I'll believe in you, and advance ahead!
— An unused quote intended to be Lucia's escape quote in Path of Radiance.
Maraj: Well, look what we have here... Lady Lucia and her pack of curs. How interesting. What cause could you have for roaming the grounds at night, hmm?
Lucia: Cause? Why, we've merely lost our way.
Maraj: Is that so? In that case, I will gladly escort you back to the castle.
Lucia: That's quite all right. We should be going home. But please do give Lord Ludveck a message... Tell him that his revolt will never succeed!
Maraj: ...Tsk tsk. I did try to warn Lord Ludveck, but it seems that he is quite fond of you. If he knew of your little discovery... I'm certain he would have no qualms about eliminating you.

— Lucia, when fighting Maraj in Part II, Chapter 2 of Radiant Dawn.
Izuka: Don't you see? If I am harmed, my knowledge will be lost! Can the human race survive such a tragedy? If you fools cannot see the larger picture, you will have to be destroyed!
Lucia: I don't know what atrocities caused Bastian to hold you prisoner, but I know what you did to the laguz, and that's reason enough for me to kill you!
Izuka: Don't be too rash! If you kill me, Crimea will surely suffer!
Lucia: I will silence your lying tongue, degenerate!

— Lucia, when fighting Izuka in Part IV, Chapter 5 of Radiant Dawn.
I'm Lucia, a knight of Crimea.
— Lucia's SpotPass parley quote in Awakening.
The time for battle is upon us!
— Lucia, in a SpotPass battle in Awakening.
Of course. I'd be honored.
— Lucia's SpotPass recruitment quote in Awakening.
This is our world! Our rules!
— Lucia, in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
Lucia: Who are you? Why are you attacking us?
Sully: Hell if I care. Chrom gives orders and I crack skulls. That's how we work.

— Lucia, when fighting Sully in Smash Brethren 1 Awakening.
I won't let you ravage this land as you please!
— Lucia, in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.
Sully: Why the hell are you resisting? You know we're going to walk all over you.
Lucia: I would never betray my mistress—nor will I lose to the likes of you!

— Lucia, when fighting Sully in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.

Death quotes

I will not die... I must not cause the lady Elincia any more grief... I must not! Live... No matter the pain... I will live!
— Lucia, in Path of Radiance.
Lucia: Ahh... It hurts...
Elincia: ...Lucia! Pull back!
Lucia: Elincia... I can still...
Elincia: Retreat! Your queen commands you!
Lucia: As you wish, my queen.

— Lucia, in Radiant Dawn, if Elincia is on the field.
I...cannot die... Elincia... I cannot leave her to mourn... Geoffrey...
— Lucia, in Radiant Dawn, if Elincia is not on the field.
Lucia: I... How? I can't...
Nealuchi: L-Lady Lucia! It can't be!
Lucia: Forget about me... Save yourselves! You have to tell...Queen Elincia...

— Lucia, in Part II, Chapter 2 of Radiant Dawn.
How...? They should be out of their element...
— Lucia, in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
Beware the forces of Elibe...
— Lucia, as an NPC in Smash Brethren 2 in Awakening.
I thought I had you... But I was...wrong...
— Lucia, in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.

Game Text
Radiant Dawn A Crimean noble who belongs to the house of Count Delbray. She is Geoffrey's elder sister and one of Queen Elincia's most loyal and trusted vassals. クリミア王国の貴族、

  • In Radiant Dawn, Lucia has two different character models as a Swordmaster. Near the beginning of Part 2, she has long hair, much like her appearance in Path of Radiance. Following her involuntary haircut by Ludveck, her character model will be depicted with short hair for the remainder of the game. Her character portrait will also follow along with this change.
    • However, she only has a single short-haired model as a Trueblade. In the Japanese version, Master Crowns are required to promote and no Master Crown is available for Lucia's use before her hair is cut. However, in the North American and PAL versions, units can promote by leveling up a level 20 unit, and thus if Lucia is provided with enough EXP in 2-2, she can promote to Trueblade, giving her a short-haired model before the applicable event in the story.
  • According to Tellius Recollection, Lucia was designed with an apparent age of 22 in Path of Radiance[1] and 25 Radiant Dawn.[2]
