Sanaki is an Empress who becomes playable at the start of part 4, and is forced into Micaiah's party and later for the endgame party in the Tower of Guidance. Her HP, strength, speed, and defense are all extremely poor for a third-tier unit and are dangerously low for her join time, meaning she will almost certainly die if she is exposed to front-line combat. All tomes except for the basic Wind tome will weigh her down significantly due to her base strength of 2. Her resistance, while very high, is near useless in her join chapter, due to the lack of enemy magic units aside from a few Bishops on the map. She cannot use staves, making her purely a combat unit. Her main saving grace is her great magic and good skill, allowing her to use long-range tomes and deal strong magic damage from the back lines. Even with regular tomes, she can deal very accurate and acceptable damage despite not doubling. Overall, these stats make her effectively a glass cannon, meaning she is good at dealing heavy damage but cannot take much in return. She is not affected by desert terrain, much like all other footlocked magic units, giving her very useful utility in chapter 4-3. Her high resistance will help for endgame, though her speed cap of 32 (if she could even reach it) will make it impossible for her to double anything past chapter 4-E-3. Equipping Rexflame can give her an extra 3 points in speed to boost her past her speed cap, up to 35, though she is very likely to be weighed down by it without significant investment to her strength stat.

It is worth noting that Hetzel and Levail will not attack her in endgame; for the latter, it could serve as a way to bypass his Impale skill. Sanaki and Sephiran will also not attack each other in the penultimate battle. She will receive a Rudol Gem for the final battle, giving her an extra 10 defense, which can provide some extra defense against some of Ashera's physical AoE attacks, but is otherwise useless against the prominent enemy spirits.

Sanaki already knows Flare, which can allow her to deal heavy magic damage and heal her if needed. She is not fast enough to make speed related skills, such as Adept and Vantage, reliable. She can use Shade to deter enemies from pursuing her, though the player should not be overdependent on it. Come endgame, Sanaki can take Volke's Stillness to increase her survivability even further. Her low joining level of 1 will not give her much time to build up her stats, so she can utilize Paragon to catch up with her allies.

Sanaki has a light affinity which gives a light defense and accuracy boost, the former which she greatly appreciates. Pairing her with an earth affinity can grant her a higher chance of survival.

Fire Emblem Awakening

Sanaki is playable as a SpotPass character, released in the Radiant Dawn character set. Sanaki is also present as an enemy in the first and third installments of the Smash Brethren DLC series.

Role

There are two different variations of Sanaki available to Heroes, with the first tied to her storyline appearance in Radiant Dawn, and the second tied to her storyline appearance in Path of Radiance. The normal variation of Sanaki was added to the game in the Sibling Bonds update, and became available for summoning by players on February 27, 2017. A bridal variation of Sanaki was made available between the period of May 21, 2018 through June 21, 2018 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Bridal Bloom update.
