“ | No man can stop fate. | ” | — Gerome, to Cherche |
---|
Gerome (Japanese: ジェローム, Jerome) is a playable character debuting in Fire Emblem Awakening. The son of Cherche from the future, he traveled back from the future to release his wyvern in a peaceful realm. He eventually ends up aiding his mother and Chrom in their war against Grima.
Fire Emblem Awakening
Role
Gerome is first met in Paralogue 11, at the Wyvern Valley, where Morristan and his gang of thugs are collecting wyverns to use as mounts, killing any nearby villagers.
When a villager asks Gerome for help he refuses, but Chrom and the Shepherds show up and decide to help. At the beginning of the battle Gerome is right next to Chrom's party so it is easy for Cherche/Chrom to talk to him. He is reluctant to fight at first, and he asserts that "no man can stop fate," but Cherche or Chrom eventually convinces him to fight, even if just for this battle. Afterwards Cherche notices that her Minerva and his wyvern look similar, and then he shows her the wedding ring and reveals he is her son.
Later it is found out that he didn't originally want to find Chrom and the Shepherds but instead he came back in time so he could release his Minerva in a peaceful realm. Despite his original goal he ends up aiding the Shepherds in defeating Grima regardless.

Personality and character
Gerome is a very distant person, choosing to interact with few people, even pushing his mother away.[1] Gerome, like many of the children characters, did not know his parents well before they died.[2]
Gerome is also a person who takes on much responsibility. He has Laurent report to him on all manner of things, from the health of his fellow soldiers to stocking the appropriate weapons.[3] After some discussion with Laurent Gerome comes to the conclusion that he should interact with the people he is managing.[4]
