Dalen (Japanese: ディン Din) is the leader of the Riders of Dawn, one of the two factions fighting over Law's End, a town in southwestern Plegia. Depending on the player's choice, Dalen can be either an NPC partner in, the sole boss of, or one of two bosses of paralogue 13 of Fire Emblem Awakening.
Dalen and his riders have been locked in a fierce rivalry with Gyral and his accompanying Stonewall Knights; the sides are preparing to fight once again as Chrom and the Shepherds arrive. The dangers of the rivalry are said to endanger the villages, despite the fact that some villagers support the Riders of Dawn.
Depending on the player's choice, Dalen can either be targeted by a combination of the Shepherds and the Stonewall Knights, ally with the Shepherds and target Gyral, or even team up with Gyral and take on the Shepherds. If Dalen is made an enemy of the Shepherds, he will eventually be defeated by them; if Dalen is made an ally of the Shepherds, he can potentially survive.
