— Seth to Eirika
|
Escape! (Japanese: 脱出行 Escape) is the first chapter of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. In this chapter, Eirika and Seth continue on their travel to Frelia, and meet up with Franz and Gilliam on the way. They then rescue Princess Tana from the castle where she is being held hostage.
Plot
- Main article: Escape!/Script
Grado soldiers led by Breguet arrive outside a fort at Border Mulan. Princess Tana of Frelia sends a messenger to King Hayden to inform him of the situation, but remains at the fort to await news of Eirika's escape from Renais. When Brequet takes the fort, Tana is taken prisoner. Eirika and Seth arrive to find the fort under Grado's control; Seth suggests bypassing it, but Eirika decides they will liberate the fort, as she does not want Frelia's citizens to suffer the same atrocities hers did.
During the battle, Breguet recognizes Eirika, and orders his soldiers to bring her to him. Later, Franz and Gilliam arrive from the north; they notice that Grado has taken the fort, and resolve to liberate it. Franz can speak with Eirika and Seth—Franz informs Eirika that Tana was at the fortress, and Eirika hurries to her friend's safety; Seth tells Franz that it is the responsibility of them both to keep Eirika safe.
After Eirika seizes the castle, she reunites with Tana; both are grateful that the other is safe, but Tana is distressed to learn that Ephraim is unaccounted for. Tana then suggests they leave for Castle Frelia, and Eirika agrees. At the castle, Hayden initially rejoices for the safety of Tana and Eirika. Hayden then relays to Eirika confirmation of Fado's death; he suggests Eirika stay and rest at Frelia. Hayden also shares the knowledge that Ephraim continues to fight against Grado. Eirika decides to march into Grado to help her brother; Hayden strongly objects, and states that Frelia has few soldiers to spare, as Prince Innes marches to fight Grado with most of them. However, seeing Eirika's determination, Hayden decides to support Eirika with what soldiers and resources he can spare, and wishes her well. Later, Tana attempts to dissuade Eirika from venturing to Grado, but Eirika remains stalwart in her decision. Tana laments the tragedy of the war, while Eirika accepts the reality of it.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.
|
This chapter is very straight forward—move towards the throne and kill all units in your way. It'll be easier to train Eirika if you pit her versus the Fighters due to the weapon triangle. Remember that Franz and Gilliam will join you on turn 2 and appear towards the north eastern ridge. Also, note that after you cross the middle of the map, three reinforcement units will appear from the bottom right corner. The boss should fall fairly quickly if you use Eirika's Rapier as it does bonus damage versus armored units. Afterwards, seize the throne.
