Armories (Japanese: 武器屋 weapon shop) are terrain, specifically buildings, found on both the world map and battle maps, that when walked on, allow units to buy or sell weapons. In many of their appearances, they do not sell items like Pure Water or any Tomes, which are instead sold by vendors; exceptions include Genealogy of the Holy War and Awakening where armories offer all item types, as well as Fates where armories sell tomes (and their Hoshidan counterpart scrolls) despite the presence of vendors.

Armories appear in 12 of the 15 games of the Fire Emblem series, the three exceptions being Gaiden, Genealogy of the Holy War (in which they are rolled into the vendor), and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Overview

In the majority of their appearances (the exceptions being Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and Fates), armories are found on the maps of certain chapters, and sell weapons, like swords or lances.

In Awakening, armories also sell items generally found in vendors shops like tomes or staves. They are also not present in Gaiden and its remake, which have no shopping at all.

In Genealogy of the Holy War, the armory is one of the castle town shops, which serves the purpose of both an armory and a vendor.

Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

In Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, Muston's armory is part of the merchant caravan and is accessed through the base. Radiant Dawn adds the bargains section to Aimee's shop. The stock available in the shop depends on the current chapter being played. Generally speaking, more powerful weapons become available as the player progresses through the game.

Unlike in other games, the armory does not allow players to directly sell items they currently have. That is instead handled through Jorge's antiques service.

Fates

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

In Fire Emblem Fates, armories are constructed and accessed in My Castle. There are two types of vendors: the Hoshidan Dawn Armory (Japanese: 白夜武器屋 White Night weapon shop, and the Nohrian Dusk Armory 暗夜武器屋 Dark Night weapon shop). Their availability depends on the campaign being played, with the Dawn Armory only being available in the Birthright and Revelation campaigns, and the Dusk Armory only being available in Conquest and Revelation. Players are also able to visit other players' My Castles and buy from their armories, including the one they do not have.

The Dawn Armory sells Hoshidan weapons like katana or shurikens while the Dusk Armory sells Nohrian weapons like swords and daggers. Once they have been constructed, they can each be upgraded to allow them to sell more powerful weapons to the player in greater quantities. Certain weapons are sold in strictly limited quantities per level.
