Damn, this is more than I bargained for. All right then, let's get this over with...
— Rumei agreeing to help Gomez for a bit longer

Rumei (Japanese: ルーメイ Rumei) is a boss appearing in Chapter 8 of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a member of the Thracian Dragon Knights who needs money to support his family, and has been hired by Gomez to assist in defending Dagdar's mansion on Mount Violdrake.

Capturing and holding, not releasing, him until the end of the chapter is the requirement for reaching Chapter 8x. On turn 16 he will mount his wyvern, making it impossible to capture him and proceed to Chapter 8x.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

Rumei appears in Chapter 8 on the payroll of Gomez. Gomez hired him to keep anyone from intruding into Dagdar's mansion so he could kill Dagdar and Tanya. Rumei has no personal investment in the matter, though he is aware of Gomez's plans.

Rumei is either captured or killed by Leif's forces. If Leif captures him they discuss what is going on, and Rumei tells Leif about Gomez. Leif then allows Rumei to leave so he can support his family.

Rumei is a mercenary looking for pay to support his three children. He appears to have been willing to take any job; after being spared by Leif he says he will find more honest avenues to support his family.

Battle quotes

Sorry, but I need the cash. Don't feel too bad about it.
— Rumei

Death quotes

Eline, Mahal, Min... Sorry... Papa can't make it home...
— Rumei when killed
Sorry, you have my gratitude. I've had enough of this. I'll support my kids with a real job from now on...
— Rumei when captured and released

  • Rumei's portrait is reused in Chapter 18 by one of Xavier's knights.
  • Rumei is the only enemy in Thracia 776 to manually dismount, all other enemy units will never use the dismount and can only be dismounted by putting them to Sleep.
  • The normal battle music is played when fighting Rumei instead of the boss battle music.
