— Safy to Lifis in Chapter 2x: The Pirate Isles

Safy (Japanese: サフィ Safy) is a playable priest in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. She is a servant of Linoan[2] sent from Tahra to look for people willing to stand up to the Grannvale Empire.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

Role

Safy was sent on a mission by Linoan to gather supporters against the Grannvale Empire. She ended up kidnapped by Lifis's Pirates. During Chapter 2x she is rescued by the Fiana Freeblades. Afterwards she decides to accompany the group to continue gathering supporters against the Empire.

When Leif is captured by the Empire in Chapter 3 Safy manages to avoid imprisonment and escapes with the other Freeblades to elsewhere. Later, when the Freeblades are captured under suspicion of banditry by Hannibal's guard, Finn and Safy manage to escape and reunite with Leif as he flees Munster. If Safy speaks with Shiva before escaping with Leif back to Hannibal he agrees to accompany the Fiana Freeblades and her from then on.

During Chapter 12x Safy reunites with her younger sister Tina in the base of the Dandelion Bandits; Tina was kidnapped by the bandits. Safy scolds Tina for leaving Tahra alone but is happy to see her nonetheless.

Safy accompanies Leif's liberation army until at least the liberation of Munster. Her involvement, if any, with the war after Leif's forces merged with Seliph's is unknown, as she does not appear in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Safy is the first healer you get in Thracia 776 that joins in chapter 3, where she also becomes unavailable until chapter 7. As the first healer in your party she's extremely valuable, she also joins with a Repair staff that is locked to her. Because of the high amount of powerful personal weapons and staves that can be repaired, in combination with needing to capture or steal stronger weapons from enemies, Safy is considered an invaluable unit through Thracia. As the first staff user in the party Safy will most likely be the first unit to reach an A rank in staves and be the first user of the Warp staff which has infinite range in Thracia. In combination with her +3 magic upon promotion and her 60% magic growth, being able to be raised even further through the use of scrolls, means that Safy will have no trouble inflicting devestating status aillments on most enemies. Also while Safy doesn't have any combat capabilityes at first, upon promotion she gets access to light magic and due to the low quality of most enemies in Thracia, she can make for a decent combat unit.

However, Safy isn't without flaws. Her mobility is very low, so she will quickly fall behind the army unless she is using the Fortify or Physic staves, her low base HP and virtually nonexistent defense mean that she will likely get one shot by many enemy units, her low HP also means that she will get fatigued very easely and later in the game you get staff users with even higher magic than and a similar staff rank as Safy. She can be left unequipped without weapon and only staves so that enemies will capture her. She also might miss sometimes with her staves, but because of her high base and growth in skill she will quickly reack 10 skill where she will stop missing entirely.

Overall, due to her great availability, being the first staff user in the party and the high power of staves in Thracia, Safy is easely one of the best units in the game, being essential for completing the game quickly.

Personality and character

Safy is a devout individual dedicated to her charge Linoan. She tends to be concerned for her younger sister's well-bring; Tina tends to be oblivious and wander off. When Tina tells Safy about the horrible things Pirn did to her she is initially very concerned, though she becomes incredulous when Tina says the only thing Pirn did to her was put bugs on her face.
