Ymir first appeared as a non-playable character at the end of the Life & Death 1 Tempest Trial.

Ymir first became playable in the Opening a Way update, and became available for summoning by players on July 19, 2022. Only one variation is currently available of this Heroes-original character; Ymir's initial variation, a green breath cavalry unit, notably marks the milestone of every combination of weapon and movement types possible at the game's initial launch having at least one unit attributed to it.
