Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
In Revelations, Oboro joins with her Birthright stats, albeit 2 chapters later and with an Iron Naginata instead of Steel. However, she doesn't suffer as much from her static stats than other units. Oboro is still immediately able to contribute at base, with her good C-Lances enabling her to pick up the Killer Lance for a ~25% chance to instantly kill anything she hits. Furthermore, Seal Defense allows her to soften enemies with a Javelin so your other units can pick up the kill, something no prior unit had. While she will get doubled by Ninjas on her join chapter, she is still bulky enough to tank one or two, and is capable of fighting Spear Fighters and Samurai without too much trouble.
Long-term, Oboro's steady growths across the board will result in a unit that is both bulky and hard-hitting. While a promotion to Basara provides the fairly powerful Rend Heaven skill, Oboro's bad magic and E-tomes will render Basara's tome usage mostly moot, so the class is only really useful for its skills. On the other hand, Spear Master Oboro gains more useful Strength and Speed, helping her serve as a tanky 1-range unit without the poor offenses Armor Knights get hit by. Oboro also benefits from Revelations' chapter layout - she can pick up Hinoka's Guard Naginata for added tankiness in Chapter 16. Then, in Chapter 18, she can take advantage of the 1-tile chokepoints throughout the map to fight 1-range enemies for experience. Chapter 20 gives her the Waterwheel, which gives Oboro additional durability with more Dodge and without the Avo penalty on the Guard Naginata, as well as a powerful attack every other round of combat. The narrow hallways and chokepoints in Chapters 21, 23, 24 and 25 all make Oboro's durability very valuable. The terrain opens up afterwards, but Oboro can still reliably bait entire squads of non-magical enemies safely, as well as do decently well against Anankos.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are two different variations of Oboro available to Heroes, both of which are tied to her storyline appearance in Fates. The normal variation of Oboro is one of the characters available to be summoned by players from the game's initial launch. A bridal variation of Oboro was made available between the period of May 20, 2020 through June 20, 2020 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Bridal Beloveds update.

Personality and character
Oboro has a strong hatred for Nohr, which stemmed from them murdering her parents in her childhood. When near a Nohrian, or anything else related to Nohr, she has the habit of making a very intimidating glare, a side effect of her childhood trauma. However, she is willing to put that hatred aside when forced to work with a Nohrian, but this comes with some difficulty, as she struggles not to make her trademark glare. When Oboro has known a Nohrian long enough, she makes the glare less frequently around them.
She has a strong fashion sense, as her father owned a kimono store. Oboro's passion for fashion has led her to manipulate other people into going along with her suggestions. This ranges from guilt-tripping Mozu and chasing down Saizo, just so they can try the clothes she has prepared for them.
