Your pale beauty far surpassed that of any flower. I was in the grips of an unforgivable desire. You were the wife of my king, to whom I'd sworn life and loyalty. I told myself a grand lie that day. I told myself I could be happy simply serving you as your most loyal knight.
— Carlyle to Ismaire

Carlyle (Japanese: カーライル Carlyle) is a character in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and the boss of Chapter 14 in Eirika's route. He is Queen Ismaire's right hand man, as well as her admirer. His love for the queen leads him to betray his country in an effort to win her love in return.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Role

Carlyle only makes an in-person appearance in Eirika's route, though he is indirectly referenced by Caellach in Ephraim's route.[1]

Despite his twenty years of loyal service, Carlyle betrays Jehanna to Grado to have Ismaire to himself. Carlyle stands against Eirika's forces in Jehanna Hall during the events of Chapter 14. Unbeknownst to him, Caellach has already killed Ismaire due to her lack of cooperation, Carlyle is killed by Eirika's forces.
