Crazed Beast
|

|
|
|
Crazed Beast (Japanese: 狂える獣 Crazed Beast) is the twenty-fifth of Hector's tale in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, and is the third chapter exclusive to Hector's tale.
Plot
- Main article: Crazed Beast/Script
Sonia meets with an imprisoned former member of the Four Fangs, Pascal. Sonia offers to release Pascal if he kills Eliwood, which he agrees to.
Hector, Lyn, and Eliwood follow a lead on the Fire Emblem that leads them to the southern marshes of Bern. As they begin to investigate the three fortresses where they were told they would find the thieves, Pascal's forces ambush the lords. Pascal prevents messages being sent to the Black Fang's headquarters to avoid interference from the Four Fangs. Now surrounded, Hector commands the group to seize the fortresses to force the enemy to retreat.
During the battle, Farina arrives on the battlefield seeking an opportunity to offer her services as a mercenary; she spots Hector and approaches him. Farina confidently sells herself as a capable warrior whose skills will cost Hector 20,000 gold. Based on the player's actions, Hector may be unable to afford Farina's price, decline to pay it, or decide to hire her; in the last case, she joins Hector's army.
Once the three forts have been captured, the remaining soldiers flee. Lyn and Hector begin arguing about Hector's reckless trust in the lead; Eliwood breaks up the argument by reminding them that they need to leave before reinforcements arrive and that they have still weakened the enemy.
Beginning log
The Bern royal family is a pageant of power, love, and hate. Eliwood finds himself embroiled in their troubles. He has been sent to recover the Bern family treasure: the Fire Emblem. It has been stolen from the palace vault. Relying on information that he has uncovered in the city, Hector heads south to an area filled with lakes and marshes.

Trivia
- There is an unused enemy layout for this chapter in the game's data that was possibly meant to be the chapter's layout in Hector Hard mode; in the finished game, both difficulties share the same data for enemy spawns.
