When Marcus went to Ostia to bring Roy back, he stayed in Pherae, guarding Lord Eliwood and the castle. Lance joins Roy's party after he escapes the castle, attempting to reach his young lord and ask for help against the bandits' attack. Once the castle and its inhabitants are saved, he stays in Roy's army for the rest of the story.
After Bern is defeated and the war is over, he returns to Pherae and works on its restoration.

Personality and character
Lance is a very serious, loyal knight of Pherae who is very respectful and calm in all situations. He reads many books on war strategy and tactics, and often shares his knowledge with others. In battle, he even records every move of the soldiers in the army and the enemies in order to help with the battle. He is quite skilled at the Fire Emblem universe's version of chess, using Fire Emblem classes such as armor knights and swordmasters. He has very sophisticated manners, and does deeply care for the others in the army. When he can, Lance does his best to help the others in the army.
Lance is a knight serving Pherae, and a loyal supporter of Roy. He has been a partner knight with Alen since he came to Pherae, and although they are very different, the two are very good friends. According to Lance, he is not from Pherae, having been there for a short time. Little else is known about his past, and his hometown is unknown. Because of this, Lance tends to belittle himself, a bad habit that Alen and Marcus try to remedy.

- "Lot: All right, so, axes are weak against swords. That much is common sense. What I'm wondering is why it's that way to begin with. I don't understand the physics behind it. That's what's troubling me.
Lance: I see. I wondered the same thing before. I found the answer after going through several books on tactics." — Lance and Lot's C support, Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
- "Lance: Ah, Wolt. I am keeping a record of this battle.
Wolt: A record?
Lance: Oh, yes. There is a quote from one of my favorite books. "Information is the most powerful weapon in any battle." And so, I keep track of our allies and enemies and what goes on where." — Lance and Wolt's B support, Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade

- "Marcus: Lance, have you gotten used to serving House Pherae?
Lance: Yes, Sir Marcus. Everyone has been very good to me despite the fact that I'm an outsider..." — Marcus and Lance's C support, Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
- "Lance: Yes. ...If it ever looks like defeat is certain, I want you to take Lord Roy and retreat. I will act as a decoy for the enemy and buy you time.
Alen: What? But what about you?
Lance: If it has to be one of us, it may as well be me. I've served House Pherae the shortest, so-
Alen: Have you lost your mind?!" — Alen and Lance's B support, Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
- "Lance: I cannot see what those experiences are. I am but a young knight. I think you see more in me than there actually is.
Marcus: I think not.
Lance: I will use what experience I have, but I don't know that I can help especially. I served a different lord until just recently, after all...
Marcus: And that is it.
Marcus: That is the experience the others do not have." — Marcus and Lance's B support, Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
