Raise the Standard (Japanese: 掲げよ旗を Raise the Flag) is the sixth chapter of Part I of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. In this chapter, the Dawn Brigade begins rousing support across Daein. This page covers the second stage of the chapter.
Plot
- Main article: Raise the Standard (stage 2)/Script
Upon seeing the Dawn Brigade, Laverton orders his soldiers to bring out civilian prisoners as hostages, claiming the Dawn Brigade "forced him to sacrifice" one of them. He gives Micaiah an ultimatum, saying that he will kill them unless the Dawn Brigade surrenders. Micaiah calls for her army to drop their weapons, and upon seeing this, Laverton orders the prisoners killed anyways. Fiona then rescues the boy he was threatening, and she and her soldiers mutiny against him to protect the remaining civilians. Micaiah reveals to Sothe that she foresaw this mutiny, and commands her soldiers to reinforce Fiona.
After the Dawn Brigade defeats Laverton, Micaiah speaks with one of the prisoners, who praises her and the Dawn Brigade. Fiona then thanks Micaiah for saving them, introducing herself as Lanvega's daughter. Micaiah recognizes Lanvega as one of the Four Riders, and Fiona explains why he and Marado did not fight alongside Ashnard in the previous war. Micaiah then asks Fiona to lend them her strength in freeing Daein, to which she agrees.
Meanwhile, in Daein Keep, Jarod receives news of Marado's betrayal from Senator Numida. Jarod worries the rebellions will eventually reach Begnion—if it did, Jarod's foul actions would then be known to Sephiran, who would quickly judge him. Jarod then proclaims he will exterminate the rebellion completely.
