Lightning magic of the highest order. It is very effective against wyvern and dragon tribe laguz.
Rexbolt (Japanese: レクスボルト Rexbolt) is a regalia thunder tome which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and is the thunder counterpart to the Rexflame and Rexcalibur tomes. In Path of Radiance it is obtained by defeating the minor boss Heddwyn, and in Radiant Dawn it is obtained by Micaiah's party during Part 4. This spell summons a rainstorm and drops an enormous bolt of lightning on the target, causing a great electrical explosion.
Path of Radiance
- Unlike with its counterpart tomes, only one character is capable of wielding Rexbolt in Radiant Dawn: Ilyana. As there are no thunder-specialist Arch Sage bosses in Radiant Dawn, no enemies are capable of wielding it either.
Etymology and other languages
|Names, etymology and in other regions
||Definition, etymology and notes
||From the Latin rex, "king", used by the Tellius duology as a prefix for the strongest tome of a magic type, + "bolt"
||Romanized as REXBOLT in its internal file name in Radiant Dawn. In Path of Radiance, its file name was "MJOLNIR", in reference to a regalia thunder spell from earlier games which would later receive this name in English localization.
||From Mjölnir (Old Norse: "crusher"), the hammer of the Norse thunder deity Thor. It was likely used because of this being the tome's internal file name in Path of Radiance.
