Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
One thing to note about Veyle is that her unique class ability, which charges the engage meter by one step per turn, can by itself break the game in interesting ways, such as by enabling massive experience generation through repeated use Tiki or Byleth's engage attacks.
If the player does not wish to resort to such shenanigans, the Fell Child class still counts as a Dragon and therefore offers strong interactions with other emblems, most notably Soren's which will enable Veyle to always crit while engaged, becoming a terrifying offensive unit. If any enemies remain after four turns of Veyle wreaking chaos, she can recharge the engage meter quite easily with her class ability and Nova. This doesn't make Veyle invincible, as the Fell Child class offers poor overall stats and growths, with a Spd of just 23+0.5/level (with Tiki's Starsphere, which is questionable on Veyle). While a Soren-supported Veyle won't need to double to one-round, she will easily be doubled and destroyed on defense, with enemy units already boasting 30+ Spd by the time she joins. If Veyle is to hold Soren's emblem, saving Speedwings for her should be considered, she'll also appreciate a pair of Boots which can fortunately be found two chapters after her recruitment. If Soren and other Dragon-friendly emblems are needed elsewhere, the Fell Child class offers little and Veyle's reclassing options should be explored.
Levin Sword Griffin Knight is a safe choice, immediately boosting Veyle's speed to 29, which she can further increase through tonics, skills and an emblem ring. This will allow her to double most targets, capitalizing on her high Mag. On top of alleviating Veyle's speed shortage, Griffin Knight also gives her solid stats and growths everywhere else, effectively making her a slightly weaker Chloé, which is still quite good, especially considering how little investment is needed.
Unlike most units that start with high SP, Veyle may not want to immediately inherit Tiki's Starsphere, as her starting level is very high. If a good number of side missions remains unplayed upon her recruitment, and she will be used as a dominant unit with Soren (or perhaps just Engage+), she can expect to gain another 15 or so levels before the (very challenging) final two chapters, in which case Tiki has some merit. If Veyle is to see limited deployment, then using both slots for instantly useful skills such as Spd+3 and Speedtaker makes more sense.
If the player doesn't expect Veyle to get much more EXP (and consequently SP), then she won't mind the SP gain penalty from a bond ring and can explore some exotic reclass options, such as a Thunder Mage Knight with an Olwen S ring, or a Radiant Bow Knight with a Claude S ring; Veyle is a better choice that most units for bows or 3-range spells, as her personal ability gives her some enemy phase presence even if her weapon is ill-suited to counterattacking.
Personality and character
Veyle has two personalities: her true personality, which is gentle and kind, and a personality brought about by Zephia's use of magic which makes her very cruel.
Endings
Gentle Dragon Veyle
Veyle took over Gradlon and made it into a lush, green land. She resisted the crown for over a century, then at last gave in to her people's wishes and became the first monarch of Gradlon.
By then, many of her old friends had died, but their offspring and Alear were at the event.
Divine Dragon Alear & Gentle Dragon Veyle
Alear became the new Divine Dragon Monarch. His/Her bonds with the rulers of each nation resulted in lasting peace.
Veyle led Gradlon to prosperity and established an orphanage there. Millennia later, an orphan with dragon blood would go on to unify the continent.

“ | Veyle: Hehehe, I'm so glad you came. Quite a backdrop, isn't it? Florra looks much prettier up in flames. I knew you'd come if I set it ablaze. And the Corrupted that frightened you so much... They're not so scary this way, are they?
Alear: Are you talking about King Hyacinth? Veyle: Yes. I thought seeing him would make you smile. We are friends, after all! Oh, but we had a falling out, didn't we? The other Veyle must be simply heartbroken. Alear: ... |
” | — Veyle as an enemy, when fighting Alear in Chapter 17. |

“ | As your sister and fellow dragon, I'll do whatever it takes to help you stop Papa! | ” | — Veyle in The Last Engage. |

“ | Zephia: Ah, Lady Veyle. You mean to kill me, do you?
Veyle: That's right. Zephia: Those eyes... So like your father's. You really resemble him, you know. Far more than the other Lady Veyle did. Veyle: You don't see me, do you, Zephia? You see me and you think of Papa. Or that other me. When we met, you seemed so kind. I really liked you. Zephia: Really? I hated you. No, that's not right... I was indifferent to you. Veyle: ... Zephia: Lord Sombron's puppet. That's all you were. A thing to be used and cast off. Yet somehow...I knew this day would come. Veyle: The day I would kill you? No wonder you didn't like me. Zephia: Well... You finally have my undivided attention. |
” | — Veyle fighting Zephia in The Four Hounds. |

“ | Corrupted Lumera: Here to kill me. Again. Why another attempt? You must know the result will be the same.
Veyle: I still have to try. No matter how many times I fail, I'm not going to give up. My brother/sister taught me that I can shape the world for the better! Corrupted Lumera: Ah, my child taught you that? How I envy you. That memory... That time together... Everyone, it seems, has a future. And hopes and dreams too. Why should you get such treasures, while I'm denied them?! It's not fair! Be gone, once and for all! Away with you! |
” | — Veyle fighting Corrupted Lumera in The Final Guardian. |
