Event Maps is one of a number of types of Fire Emblem Heroes's Special Maps. Event Maps are limited-time maps made available in commemoration of certain events; the first six types solely rewarded Orbs upon their completion, with the seventh type (Special Skills) adding other rewards to the mix. There have been multiple different types of Event Maps over the life of the game, each with their own unique stipulations.
Note that the term "Event Map" is a fan-created moniker, and they are only ever referred to as "Special Maps" in-game.
- Note: All date ranges mentioned below begin at 7:00 AM UTC on the first listed date and end at 6:59 AM UTC on the second listed date unless otherwise noted.
Launch Celebration
These maps were released to celebrate the launch of the game, and do not offer much in the way of special rules. Four spotlight characters appear on each of the maps. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering three Orbs for their completion.

Starter Support
These maps were released as part of a three-part special event designed to assist players new to Heroes in the latter half of March 2017, and do not offer much in the way of special rules; the other two parts of the event consisted of a Log-In Bonus of two Orbs per day and bonus experience earned on these maps, Story Maps, Training Tower, and the Arena. Four spotlight characters appear on each of the maps. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering three Orbs for their completion.

Defensive Battle
These maps were offered to test players' defensive capabilities; they are the first Event Maps to offer both generic enemies as well as reinforcements, and is also the first set to offer maps that require all of the player's units to survive in order to clear (in this case, parts three through five). The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.
All five of these maps ran from May 9, 2017 through May 25, 2017.

Daily (1)
These maps offered challenges against generic enemies of a particular trait, such as armored units or units wielding certain colors of weapon skills, with a new map debuting daily between August 27, 2017 through September 16, 2017; all maps remained available for one week after their debut, the last one ending September 23, 2017. This category overlapped with the Turn Limit category for the debuts of the first thirteen maps, and with the Warriors category for the finales of the last two maps; these two overlaps make the period of August 23, 2017 through October 26, 2017 the longest continuous presences of Event Maps to date in the history of the game. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.
This is the first category of Event Maps to not include spotlight characters. It is also the first category to include banners made specifically for a particular event, with each banner attached to three battles within the event.
While Daily offered twenty-one maps in total, only four unique map designs were used for this event; the design introduced on day 2 was used the most, for twelve of the twenty-one maps, while the other three designs were used three times each.

Warriors
These maps offered challenges battles against a spotlight character and numbers of generic enemies, with generic enemies spawning reinforcements upon their defeat; these maps attempt to mimic the gameplay style of Fire Emblem Warriors, whose release these Event Maps were released to commemorate. The maps were made available in three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic, each offering one Orb for their completion; these maps were the first Event Maps to offer a Lunatic difficulty.
All of these maps ran from September 21, 2017 through October 26, 2017, the former date being one week before Warriors's Japanese release, the latter date being six days after Warriors's international release. The first two days of this run overlapped with the first Daily category.
These maps were the first set of Event Maps to get a rerun, all five of them running a second time from December 14, 2017 through January 14, 2018; this rerun is in conjunction with the first wave of Warriors's downloadable content on December 21, 2017, a week after the start of this event's rerun. The rerun of this event includes an overlap with the entirety of the second Daily category, whose first battle began ten days after this event's rerun started, and whose last battle ended four days before this event's rerun ended; by extension, it also overlapped with the entirety of the New Year's category, which ran simultaneously with the last ten days of the second Daily category.

Special Skills
These maps were released as part of the three-part Sacred Seal Forge Support Event designed to encourage players to use the Sacred Seal Forge mechanic, and do not offer much in the way of special rules; the other two parts of the event consisted of 19 related quests and a Log-In Bonus including Sacred Coins, Great Badges, and Crystals in addition to Orbs. Four or five spotlight characters appear on each of the maps, each of which is themed around a specific passive skill whose tier increases with the stage's difficulty. The maps were made available in three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic; Normal and Hard each offer 10 Sacred Coins for their completion, while Lunatic offers one Orb for its completion.
All five of these maps ran from November 12, 2017 through November 27, 2017.

Daily (2)
These maps offered challenges against generic enemies of a particular trait, with a new map debuting daily between December 24, 2017 through January 3, 2018; all maps remained available for one week after their debut, the last one ending January 10, 2018. This category's entire run overlapped with the second run of the Warriors category; it also overlapped with the entirety of the New Year's category, which ran alongside the last ten days of this category. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.

New Year's
These maps were released to celebrate the start of 2018 and were part of a three-part event; the other two parts consisted of a daily Log-In Bonus of two Orbs per day and a number of special daily quests offering Orbs and Stamina Potions. The maps themselves essentially acted as an extension of the second Daily event with tripled rewards, offering challenges against generic enemies of a particular trait, with a new map debuting daily between January 1, 2018 through January 3, 2018; all maps remained available for one week after their debut, the last one ending January 10, 2018. The traits used in this event were the three movement type-based ones that were used only once in the second Daily event (as opposed to the weapon color categories that were used twice in the second Daily event). This category's entire run overlapped with the last 10 days of the second Daily event, and in turn also overlapped the second run of the Warriors category; as such, the ten days of this event were the first instance of three different categories of Event Maps running at once, with the gameplay day encompassing 7:00 AM UTC January 3, 2018 – 6:59 AM UTC January 4, 2018 seeing the most simultaneous Event Maps available to date with 15. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering three Orbs for their completion.
Despite being an essential extension of the second Daily event which reused three of the map designs from that event, the maps of this event did not make use of that event's banner designs; instead, they were the first Event Maps since the Turn Limit category to use the regular Event Map banner design.

Refined Weapons
These maps were offered to showcase the Weapon Refinery, and as such equipped the enemy units with weapon skills that have been granted refined effects. The maps were made available in three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic; Normal and Hard each offer 5 Refining Stones for their completion, while Lunatic offers one Orb for its completion.
All five of these maps ran from January 21, 2018 through February 4, 2018. The last two days of this category overlapped with the first two days of the third Daily category.

Daily (3)
These maps were offered as part of the game's one-year anniversary celebration, and offered a new map debuting daily between February 2, 2018 through February 26, 2018; all maps remained available for one week after their debut, the last one ending March 5, 2018. Unlike the first two Daily events, the maps of this Daily event are based around every New Heroes and Special Heroes summoning event that had taken place during the game's first year; each map takes place on the map of a chapter introduced in the corresponding event, and all characters corresponding to a particular summoning event are represented on a map. Every main story and paralogue chapter introduced alongside these summoning events is represented in one map of this event with the exceptions of chapter 12 of Book I (represented twice due to the update introducing it running two New Heroes focuses alongside it) and chapter 1 of Book II (not represented due to the other chapter introduced alongside it representing the Children of Fate summoning event). All maps take place in the order of the included elements' introduction to the game. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.
Daily has offered the most maps to date of all types of Event Maps, offering twenty-five maps.
The first two days of this category overlapped the last two days of the Refined Weapons category, while all but the first twelve days of this category overlapped with the Shadow Dragon category.

Shadow Dragon
This category is similar to the Warriors category, in that these maps offered challenges battles against a spotlight character and numbers of generic enemies, with generic enemies spawning reinforcements upon their defeat, attempting to mimic the gameplay style of Fire Emblem Warriors, whose Shadow Dragon-themed DLC release these Event Maps were released to commemorate; the date of the release of the first map in the set being the day after the release of said Warriors DLC. The maps were made available in three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic, each offering one Orb for their completion.
All but the last two days of this run overlapped with the third Daily category.

Awakening/Fates
This category is similar to the Warriors and Shadow Dragon categories, in that these maps offered challenges battles against a spotlight character and numbers of generic enemies, with generic enemies spawning reinforcements upon their defeat, attempting to mimic the gameplay style of Fire Emblem Warriors, whose Awakening-themed DLC release these Event Maps were released to commemorate; the date of the release of the first map in the set being the date of the release of said Warriors DLC. The maps were made available in three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic, each offering one Orb for their completion.
The hybrid naming scheme for this category is likely due to Owain, one of the characters being made available in said Warriors DLC, not being available to Heroes in his Awakening incarnation at the time these maps were added to the Heroes game data in the The True Quarry update (this would not occur until the Brave Redux update seven months later); as a result, his map is themed to his Fates incarnation of Odin, despite this setup being anachronistic to Warriors where Odin does not formally feature. Confusion to an event run during the release of the Fates-themed DLC is averted due to Heroes opting to rerun the Warriors category in that timeframe instead of creating a new category of maps at that time.
The maps were added to the game in the The True Quarry update to initially run from March 14, 2018 through April 2, 2018, likely in the same staggered setup with Tharja's map going first, then Olivia's map on March 17 and Odin's map on March 20; the event was delayed to better correspond to the initial timeframe of the Warriors DLC these maps are themed to, notably the first time specific Heroes content has been formally announced to be delayed since the launch of the game itself was delayed from a Q4 2016 timeframe to its actual launch the following February.

Reward Maps
These maps were released as part of the 2018 Golden Week celebration, and each focus on a single character that has had at least three variants made available via various methods between the game launch and the Snow and Ash update. For eleven days starting April 27, 2018, a new map was made available, with each map remaining available for four days, with the last map ending on May 11, 2018. Each of these maps are available in two difficultes, Normal and Hard, and each offer one Orb for completion on each difficulty.
Players of non-Japanese versions were unintentionally given a preview of this event's map naming style when the Grand Hero Battle map that should have been named Saias: Bishop of Flame was inadvertently mistranslated as Vs. Saias: Reward Map. That map is not part of this event and thus not included below, and the error was corrected for its reruns.

Nifl and Múspell
This category themes itself to three royal characters from Nifl contrasted with two royal characters and one additional character from Múspell, pairing characters up for three maps, made available in three difficulties, Normal, Hard, and Lunatic, each offering one Orb for their completion.
This is the only category of Event Maps to date to include spotlight characters where all of the event's spotlight characters are Heroes originals.
All of these maps ran from November 21, 2018 through December 5, 2018. The former date is notably the date where Ylgr first became an actual unit in Heroes gameplay, being added to the game in the update that debuted on that date.

Daily (5)
This collection of eleven maps were offered as part of the game's two-year anniversary celebration, and offered a new map debuting daily between February 2, 2019 through February 12, 2019; all maps remained available for four days after their debut, the last one ending February 16, 2019. Each of the maps includes two headliner units from the same game of origin, with each map featuring a more recent game of origin than the last, with a map relating to at least one of the headliner characters; the ordering of the pairs is regardless of which game the headliners are actually credited to, with the first two maps in particular appearing to represent a game that the headliners are not credited with representing. The ordering of the games also correlates to rerun Bound Hero Battle-themed summoning events that also featured characters from at least one of the games in question. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.

Maps in this category draw from the three Halloween-themed paralogues and their associated summoning events that were part of the game at the time of this event--Trick or Defeat!, The Land's Bounty, and Treat Fiends--each utilizing one of those chapters' maps and two headliner characters that debuted alongside those chapters. Generic enemies equip accessories, a first for Event Maps. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.

3rd Anniversary
This collection of thirteen maps were offered as part of the game's three-year anniversary celebration, and offered a new map debuting daily between February 2, 2020 through February 14, 2020; all maps remained available for four days after their debut, the last one ending February 18, 2020. Maps in this category are each themed around a game in the Fire Emblem series; the Archanea tetralogy are counted as a single game for purposes of this event as are Gaiden and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia while Heroes itself is also represented, hence why this even runs for thirteen parts instead of sixteen. The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.

Retrospective
This Event Map is the first instance of a category consisting of only a singular map; it displaced Starter Support from more than three years earlier as the category with the fewest maps within a single event. This singular Event Map takes place on a variation of the map for part 1 of chapter 1 of Book I made in an 8-bit style (i.e. along the lines of Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, the game which was remade as Book I of the game the original chapter's map is themed to). The map ran between April 1, 2020 and April 15, 2020 and was available in three difficulties: Normal, Hard, and Infernal, each offering an accessory depicting one of the Order of Heroes in an 8-bit style (Alfonse for Normal, Sharena for Hard, Anna for Infernal).

FE 30th Anniversary
This collection of thirteen maps were offered as part of the thirty-year anniversary celebration of the Fire Emblem series, and offered a new map debuting daily between April 8, 2020 through April 20, 2020; all maps remained available for four days after their debut, the last one ending April 24, 2020. Each map is themed to a different game in the Fire Emblem series; Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, the game whose 30th anniversary this set of maps celebrates, is itself not represented in this event due to only one character being credited to it at the time of the start of this event (Gaiden also similarly lacks representation in this event due to no character being yet credited to that game at the time of the start of this event). The maps were made available in two difficulties, Normal and Hard, each offering one Orb for their completion.
