Saizo forms the red-green duo with his brother, Kaze, despite not being cavaliers. His personality contrasts his brother; while Kaze is calm, Saizo is hot-blooded and quick to become incensed.

I am Saizo, retainer to Lord Ryoma. I am certain that you are to blame for my lord's disappearance. I will not—I cannot—forgive your betrayal. You don't honestly think you can stand a chance against me, do you?
— Saizo, as an enemy in Revelation Chapter 8.
Lord Ryoma... [...] No. My loyalty lies with you and you alone. However, I feel that you are blinded to the real enemy among us. I do not think I am betraying you now. My actions will show you... [...] That may be the case. In time, yours will, too. I must get past you, though. The fate of this town requires it. Please, find it in your heart to forgive me for what I must do...
— Saizo, fighting Ryoma in Revelation Chapter 13.
