Grand Hero Battle

Grand Hero Battle (Japanese: 大英雄戦 Great Hero Battle) is a game mode in Fire Emblem Heroes, and one of a number of types of the game's Special Maps. A Grand Hero Battle allows players to challenge a difficult team on a special map available for a limited period of time with the potential to recruit the battle's headliner as a playable unit.
The first two Grand Hero Battles, Narcian and Robin, allowed players to win a two-star version of the unit for completing the challenge on Normal difficulty and a three-star version of the unit for completing the challenge on Hard difficulty; starting with the third Grand Hero Battle, Ursula, Normal difficulty awards the three-star unit while Hard difficulty awards a four-star unit. Later Grand Hero Battles, starting with Legion in first-run and later extending to revivals with Lloyd's first revival, additionally feature an Infernal difficulty, an even tougher map that offers four-star units and Hero Feathers as rewards, with the unit being four-star even in the case of a revival of a map that doesn't offer four-star units on other difficulties. Starting on October 8, 2018, certain revivals added an Abyssal difficulty that offer a golden accessory for its first completion.
In addition to the first-run Grand Hero Battles, past Grand Hero Battles are also occasionally revived in order to allow players who haven't yet obtained these characters a chance to do so; Grand Hero Battle Revivals also offer additional quests with tasks that allow players to win Orbs and additional copies of the headliner characters.
Starting from February 9, 2018, seven of the first eight Grand Hero Battles became part of the Daily Grand Hero Battle Revival, one of three types of Persistent Special Maps; the Daily Grand Hero Battle Revival is a rotating set of Grand Hero Battles that change daily at 7:00 AM UTC each day in the same fashion as fellow Persistent Special Map type Hero Battle; this rotation had an Abyssal difficulty added to them starting from October 8, 2018. A second set of seven Grand Hero Battles became part of a second rotation on April 11, 2018, which runs alongside the first rotation and thus allowing two rotating Grand Hero Battles per day; the second rotation's characters means that the first 14 Grand Hero Battles have all been made part of a rotation.
