Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
As a second generation unit, Ophelia's stats, skills, and class sets can vary greatly depending on who Odin marries, as well as her parents' stats and skills at the time of recruitment. Generally speaking, Ophelia tends to have high magic, good luck, decent skill and speed, but weak defenses. She is more of a traditional mage, contrasting her father, who has above-average bulk but lower raw power, though they both share similarly strong critical hit capabilities.
Ophelia's paralogue offers several items that she can take great advantage of, including a Spirit Dust to improve her already strong magic, as well as a solid personal weapon in Missiletainn, which has stats comparable to Fimbulvetr without the speed penalty, along with a crit bonus. The free Lightning is also very useful as it allows her to strike twice even without much investment into speed, allowing her to ORKO many enemies even in spite of the tome's low might. Those two tomes, along with her initial Thunder will allow her to take advantage of her personal skill, Bibliophile, immediately. As a result of these factors, Ophelia can be a great nuker right from the get-go.
Ophelia will typically want to promote into Sorcerer, as this provides more magic and speed than Dark Knight, allowing her to naturally double more enemies, maximizing her reliable ORKO capabilities. It additionally grants +10 crit, which goes well with her personal skill and personal weapon. Mjölnir is an excellent weapon for her, as it makes her crit rate more reliable while also dealing even more damage with them. Dark Knight can still be a solid option, however, as it improves her mobility significantly, allowing her to keep up with the mount-filled army of Conquest. It also boosts her defense, although even with this she will likely still be very frail and will likely still need protection to stay alive and healthy.
Like her father, Ophelia can reclass into the Samurai tree, and can receive whatever skills Odin may not have passed down to her from it. Vantage is one of the most valuable, as it allows her to enemy phase quite well with things like Nosferatu, Calamity Gate, and Life and Death. This may seem like a risky option, but with proper planning, she can delete entire maps by reaching one-shotting thresholds. Ophelia also cannot use the Samurai tree well, due to her low strength and defenses, meaning it is typically better to just have her inherit one of the tree's skills from her father instead of reclassing to it herself.
In regards to inheritance, Ophelia wants a mother who can maximize her potential offense. Elise is her best option as it maximizes her magic base, growth, and cap. Elise will pass down the worst possible class options compared to her other mothers, but if Elise is reclassed to a wyvern rider, she can at the very least pass down Lunge, which can be situationally useful. The support can also be built somewhat easily, as long as Elise has been reclassed to a wyvern rider. Some decent options for Ophelia are Felicia and Nyx are all good choices for these reasons, with the former two being able to pass down Tomebreaker, and the latter being able to pass down the handy Movement +1, among other notable skills. In Revelation, Orochi can also be a good option as, although she is slower than the other three mentioned, she can potentially pass down Death Blow via an A+ support with Rinkah, which Ophelia can use to reach ludicrous crit rates in conjunction with her other traits.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are two different variations of Ophelia available to Heroes, both of which are tied to her storyline appearance in Fates. The standard version of Ophelia is one of the characters added to the game in the A Way Home update, and became available for summoning by players on September 14, 2018. A Rearmed variation of Ophelia was added with the Book VII launch update, and was made available to summon starting on December 7, 2022, as the game's fourth Rearmed Hero.
