Plot

Main article: The Lair of Fire/Script

After the downfall of Grust, the last remnants of the military take the inhabitants of a village hostage in a desperate attempt to stave off Marth's forces. However, they are butchered by a mighty warrior named Ymir. Marth's army arrives and finishes off the Grust stragglers; Ymir, who was initially doubtful of Marth's righteousness, is convinced to join him.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

Team Division:

  • Left Path Group: Equip units with Armorslayers, Ridersbanes, and/or magic to handle various threats.
  • Middle Path Group: This group should comprise of sturdy units a healer to confront enemy Generals and Paladins.
  • Right Path Group: This smaller team should include units with high HP and magic, prepared to tackle the Manakete near the bridge.
  • If the team is low on diversity and strength, move through a single path instead.

Key Considerations During Battle:

  • Ymir remains stationary unless attacked or if a unit enters his attack range. Talk to him with Marth to recruit him after the chapter.
  • One Bishop holds a Fortify staff, so plan on eliminating units in one turn. Keep your low resistance units a safe distance away from the other Bishop with the Swarm tome.

Boss Encounter:

  • Larissa, a General, is susceptible to magic attacks. A focused magical onslaught should secure victory in one turn.

New Unit:

  • Ymir, a pre-promote Warrior and decent filler unit. His base Strength is sufficient to one-shot enemy Paladins with a +4 might Poleax for the next two chapters.
