MP_RACE 分類

Unit status menu string. This would have been used to show a unit's race, like in Radiant Dawn. The string is blank in the English version.

String name Japanese text English text

String name Japanese text English text
MS_TER_CHECKROOM 預り所 Storage

Terrain label. The Japanese string is the same name as the convoy shop from Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, Genealogy of the Holy War, and Thracia 776. The final game has the convoy accessible at any time by Marth or units standing adjacent to Marth, and not as a shop.

Note that the actual string does not use a number sign and uses command codes to display the number, but a number sign is used here for readers' convenience.

String name Japanese text English text

MNI_片仮名 カタカナ Katakana
MNI_漢字 漢字 Kanji

These are used in the Japanese version as selectable character sets when inputting the name of a forged weapon or a multiplayer team, but the option to use those character sets was removed in the English version, leaving these strings unused.

Items

There is only one known unused item in Shadow Dragon: a Torch. It was presumably cut because fog of war makes no appearances in the main story mode, but if the game is altered to put it in a unit's inventory, it works properly in multiplayer battles where fog of war is in play.

Icon Item name Uses Worth Description
Notes
Is ds torch.png Torch 5 500 A helpful item that lights the surrounding area. Its effect lessens with each passing turn.
Increases the user's fog of war vision range by a 5-tile radius. The boosted vision decreases by 1 tile every 2 turns.
(Internal name: TORCH)

Character portraits

Not counting repeated files, there are seven unused portraits. Internally, portraits are stored separately in two sizes: the full size portraits used for cutscenes, and the smaller size used in unit profiles in gameplay. Usually, a cut portrait will only have one or the other.

Portrait dummy fe11.png
File name: DUMMY
A placeholder portrait; the writing on it reads 制作中 Under construction. In addition to its own file, it is repeated frequently through the portrait files as a placeholder for missing or incomplete portraits, including being the full size counterpart for every generic class portrait.
Portrait armorless midia fe11.png
File name: S_MIDIA
A version of Midia's portrait without her armor. Only exists as a full-sized portrait; the profile version is only the dummy portrait.
Portrait armorless minerva fe11.png
File name: S_MINERBA
A version of Minerva's portrait without her armor. Only exists as a full-sized portrait; the profile version is just a copy of her regular portrait's.
Portrait armorless caeda fe11.png
File name: S_SHEEDA
A version of Caeda's portrait without her armor. Only exists as a full-sized portrait; the profile version is just a copy of her regular portrait's.
Small portrait unused fe11.png
File name: MAGE_BLUE
A portrait for a generic magic user. Only the profile version exists; the matching full-sized portrait file only has the dummy portrait.
Portrait nehring fe11.png
File name: NEHRING
A portrait attributed to Nehring, a boss from Mystery of the Emblem who does not appear in any version of Shadow Dragon. It is an exact duplicate of Zharov's portrait, likely because they shared a portrait in Mystery. When Nehring appeared in New Mystery of the Emblem, he received a completely new portrait. Has both full-sized and profile versions.
Portrait unused kannival fe11.png
File name: CANARIS
An earlier version of Kannival's portrait, which differs in proportions and shading. The final version is at the file name CHANARIS. Only exists as a full-sized portrait, and does not have a file for a profile-sized portrait at all.
Portrait unused merach fe11.png
File name: MULAC
An earlier version of Merach's portrait, which differs in proportions and shading. The final version is at the file name MULARK. Only exists as a full-sized portrait, and does not have a file for a profile-sized portrait at all.
Portrait unused tomas fe11.png
File name: TORMAS
An earlier version of Tomas's portrait, which differs in proportions and shading. The final version is at the file name THORMAS. Only exists as a full-sized portrait, and does not have a file for a profile-sized portrait at all.

Miscellaneous

Ss fe11 unused order slide.png An unused tutorial slide which suggests that a Radiant Dawn-style Order feature was planned for the game but was cut, even including a screenshot of the feature in action. There is no known unused functionality for what the tutorial slide describes left in the final game.
FESD My Unit Registration.png An unused label that reads "My Unit Registration", this image suggests that Shadow Dragon may have originally been planned to have an Avatar character, as Avatars are called "My Unit" in Japan.

Classes

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

There are four unused classes in Shadow Dragon. All of these are classes returning from Mystery of the Emblem, such as the dismounted versions of the Cavalier class.

Dismounted Cavalier

Main article: Knight (Mystery of the Emblem)

Data for male and female dismounted Cavaliers much like in Mystery of the Emblem was planned to feature at one stage.
