To find Ogma, Jubelo, and Yuliya, Marth goes to the Holm Coast, where he finds the trio beset by the Macedonian Vikings. While protecting the children in his care, Ogma can speak with a masked wanderer calling himself Sirius, who offers to cover their escape and joins Ogma in fighting off the bandits. Eventually, Marth's troops reach the mercenary, and Marth recruits Castor from the northern village by giving him gold when he asks for it.
The army defeats the bandit leader, Gail, and captures his fortress. However, Caeda arrives to inform Marth that the Empire has taken over Altea and Emperor Hardin has branded Marth and his army as traitors to Archanea. Elice has been taken hostage to allow Caeda to escape, and she does not know the fates of the others. Marth vows to reclaim Altea, even if it means fighting the Emperor himself.
