Prologue III (Japanese: 序章 転 Prologue: Twist) is the third chapter in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on Normal difficulty.
Plot

Prologue III/Script
Marth and his entourage take a moment to rest after escaping the castle. Cain confirms that King Cornelius was killed in Gra, and reveals that Falchion was stolen and their troops massacred. Cornelius's last request was for Marth to take up his sword, save Archanea, and lead Altea to prosperity. Marth and Cain, the latter of whom is suffering from survivor's guilt, vow to exact revenge on Dolhr and particularly Gra.
After defeating a regiment of Gra troops stationed outside the castle, Malledus arrives. When he reveals that Elice is remaining in Altea, Marth attempts to return to the castle to rescue her, but Malledus stops him. He reminds Marth that he is the sole hope for Archanea and that he must live to return and reclaim his nation. Marth begrudgingly relents.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Your new units are Cain, another good Cavalier, and Jagen, a Paladin. Although Jagen has bad growths, his good bases and weapon levels mean he is more than capable of helping out, especially on Normal difficulty due to the low enemy quality in this mode. The houses provide gameplay tips that are useful for novices, but can be safely ignored by veterans. This chapter is where things start to get somewhat interesting; your units can be overwhelmed and die in humiliating fashion if you are too reckless, and the Mages at the end can take serious chunks out of your HP. Try to take on the enemies one at a time if at all possible, and you should have little trouble. Remember to avoid giving kills to whomever you wish to make the Decoy in Prologue IV.
