Voice of Paradise (Japanese: 楽園の歌声 Singing Voice of Paradise) is the fourteenth chapter of the Conquest campaign in Fire Emblem Fates. In this chapter, Corrin and his/her army, now with Leo in tow, take on Hoshidans that they believe to be responsible for the singer that harmed Garon with her song. Later on, Corrin's and Leo's legendary weapons react and cause one of them to transform.

Voice of Paradise/Script
As Corrin and Camilla lead their army into Cyrkensia, a city in the kingdom of Nestra, Corrin asks Camilla if they should head straight back to Castle Krakenberg; Camilla states that they're in Cyrkensia since Garon wants to meet up with them there, as it's his favorite city in Nestra. Corrin attempts to deduce it's dangerous for Garon to travel to Cyrkensia in such a fashion, to which Camilla states that Nestra is neutral territory and thus nothing eventful should happen unless one attempts to pick a fight; Leo, arriving on the scene, tells Corrin to keep on his/her toes as Hoshidans may be in the area, to which Corrin deduces that Leo has finished his mission, to which Leo mostly confirms and reveals that protecting Garon here is his last task. After Odin and Niles reunite with Leo, Leo prepares to take his place at the theater, but not before explaining to Corrin about Cyrkensia's singers and dancers always putting on a big performance when Garon's in town; as Leo prepares to leave the scene, he suggests that Corrin watch the show and states that warriors need to rest occasionally. Corrin states that he/she is in no mood to catch a show at this time given the tragedy in Cheve, and vows to ask Garon about his motivations when he/she gets the chance.
Inside the opera house, Leo summons Corrin over to Garon's side; Garon states that he is proud of Corrin for his/her role in the events at Cheve, then expresses how proud he is of Corrin even as he/she tries to explain what really happened. As Garon states that he's proud that Corrin has embraced his methods enough to receieve praise from Hans, Corrin again attempts to explain what really happened in Cheve as Iago states that the performance is about to begin and asks Corrin to take his/her seat. Leo asks Corrin about what happened in Cheve, to which Corrin hints to what went down and that they'll have to talk with Garon later; as Leo leaves the scene, Corrin states that he/she hasn't seen Azura in awhile and hopes that she found a seat elsewhere.
(Cutscene: "Dark Song") We cut to Azura having taken the stage and performing the second verse of Lost in Thoughts All Alone, to which we see Garon visibly discomforted. Once the cutscene ends with Garon still in discomfort, Iago orders the soldiers to capture Azura (although nobody on the scene knows Azura was the performer) as he speaks, deducing that her song is a curse of some sort; as Corrin wonders about whether Lost in Thoughts All Alone is a curse, Leo calls toward Corrin stating that they need to catch Azura before noticing that the stage is empty; as Corrin prepares to pursue Azura, Kumagera stops them and, with Hoshidan troops arriving on the scene, asks Corrin's army to back away and states that the first step to ensuring peace is Garon's death. As Corrin questions Kumagera's methods, Leo deduces that the Hoshidans are responsible for the curse on Azura, to which Kumagera denies and states that he doesn't know about Azura or any curse on her; Leo brings up Azura's performance, then (still not knowing Azura was the performer) deduces that she's one of Kumagera's underlings, to which Kumagera states he doesn't know what Leo's talking about and deduces Leo's story as a fabrication. As Leo continues to confront Kumagera, Azura appears on the scene and asks Corrin what's going on; Corrin asks Azura where she was, to which Azura states that she wasn't feeling well and went out to get some air. Corrin and Azura talk about the arrival of Kumagera's soldiers and Azura not seeing herself flee the opera house; Kumagera states that he's readying his troops, to which Leo suggest that Corrin do the same. Preparations take place at this point.
Once preparations are complete, Keaton arrives on the scene, stating that he got lost looking for bugs for his collection; noting the ruckus, he notices Corrin and decides to ask him/her for directions. The battle begins at this point. Should Corrin speak with Keaton, Keaton proceeds to introduce himself as a wolfskin, a being that can transform into a wolf using a beaststone; Corrin asks what Keaton's doing in the area, to which Keaton states that he's gotten lost and can't find his way back home, to which Corrin states he/she can't help in that regard. Corrin then suggests that Keaton join his/her army, to which Keaton accepts before offering one of his hair balls to Corrin as a token of friendship; the player may now control Keaton at this point.
Once the battle ends, Corrin deduces that they've managed to win the battle but states that Azura, as the performer who sang earlier, got away; Leo deduces that Azura's with the Hoshidans and must be stopped, to which Corrin states that he/she has a strange feeling that she's not Hoshidan. Garon, Iago and Hans appear on the scene, to which Garon tasks Corrin into killing all of the singers in Nestra; Corrin states that it was the Hoshidans who attacked the area and states that the singers are innocent, to which Garon states that killing all of the Nestrian singers is the only way to keep Nohr safe. As Corrin continues to attempt to talk Garon out of killing the Nestrian singers, Iago and Hans agree to do the task and leave the scene; Corrin then calls out to Garon; warning him he/she is sick of taking innocent lives and that they should show mercy and try to talk things out instead, then no one would have to die and finally reveals Hans's role in Cheve, after which Garon states his desire to rule Hoshido and will do anything to achieve that task, even if someone disobeys and dies, shocking Corrin. Before he/she can protest further, Leo calls Corrin out of the confrontation, stating that Corrin is tired from recent events, after which Leo and Corrin leave the scene.
Leo scolds Corrin about protesting Garon's ambitions, to which Leo states that he knows Corrin means well, bringing up the time they spared Kaze and Rinkah, but Garon's one who's willing to have Corrin killed on the spot if he's openly disobeyed. While Corrin understands Leo's perspective, he/she refuses to kill the innocent and wants to save everyone, but Leo stops him/her from leaving and they talk about how they have to at least pretend to be following Garon's orders, as their generation of the family--Xander and Elise included--have made an art of manipulating things for the better behind the scenes. As Leo and Corrin come to an understanding, we witness Leo's Brynhildr glowing, after which Leo states that Corrin's Yato is doing the same; Corrin deduces that this is the transformation that the Rainbow Sage spoke of.
We cut to a scene of the Yato and witness it transforming; Corrin notes the transformation and reveals that this is the Grim Yato that the Rainbow Sage was talking about. Corrin tells Leo about what he/she learned about the Yato from the Rainbow Sage, deducing that Leo was the Nohrian hero the Rainbow Sage was talking about; Leo states that time is not a luxury that they have, deducing that Iago and Hans may have already captured some of the Nestrian singers and that he'll try to save some of them and tells Corrin not to challenge Garon as Corrin's life depends on it.
Summary
Corrin is filled with doubt after witnessing brutality in Cheve. Before Corrin can share these doubts with King Garon, the Hoshidan army appears in Nestra.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
In this chapter, you recruit Leo and Keaton. Leo is a Dark Knight and the bulkiest mage in the game. His Speed is questionable, but can be fixed with a support with Niles and/or Felicia. Keaton hits pretty hard and can clobber enemy cavalry with his Beastbane skill, but relies on supports to double and is locked to 1 range. This Conquest chapter is the first to include promoted non-bosses, notably a Kinshi Knight who spawns from the west upon crossing the map's midpoint. With the number of hostile fliers, it might not be viable to only rely on Niles since his (somewhat) mediocre Defense will not protect him from several physical attacks despite his bows' triangle advantage over lances. Use of the Beast Killer from the armory and Keaton's Beastbane skill will be beneficial.
If you plan to use Charlotte, the Pegasus Knights in this map make good target practice due to their weapon triangle disadvantage and their gender tripping Charlotte's personal skill. Pair up Niles with Leo and send him into the southern Archers' range with Azura's singing. The Archers will attack Keaton, so take them out quickly. Recruit Keaton. Have a meat shield block off the Samurai charging in from the north. You shouldn't have too much trouble beating back the initial wave.
As you advance east, watch out for the Shrine Maidens with Freeze, Enfeeble, and Hexing Rod staves. You can always bait them out to force them to waste their charges. Once you aggro the men to the east, up to three Sky Knight reinforcements will appear from the west. Take them out before proceeding. Try not to get caught between the pegasi and eastern men in a pincer. Once they're dead, all that's left is Kumagera and his goons. Send in Leo to quickly bump off the Shrine Maiden with the Entrap, take out the Archers, and bring down Kumagera. If he is to be captured on Hard or Lunatic, magic weapons should only be used when the next hit is fatal as otherwise Countermagic will return the magic damage Niles dealt on top of Kumagera's counterattack. His above-average stats and instant A/B weapon levels will make him a valuable addition to the team.
At the end of the chapter, Corrin's Yato automatically evolves into the Grim Yato, giving her +2 Defense and Resistance when it is in her inventory. If you stuffed it in the convoy, you should pull it out.
Trivia
- This chapter reuses the map from Birthright Chapter 12, but with a different layout.
