Reunion (The Binding Blade)/Script
As Roy's troops enter Castle Ostia, the rebel general Legance tells his soldiers to discreetly kill Lilina, as many of his soldiers are more loyal to her than to him. In the meantime, the Ostian spy Astolfo talks with Roy and informs him that Lilina is locked in a small room, while Legance is sitting on the throne. He then joins Roy for the ensuing battle, and the fight begins.
In the midst of battle, a group of soldiers loyal to Ostia – Ogier, Barthe, and Gwendolyn – arrives from the north-west and joins Roy's side. Cath also shows up to steal the castle's treasures, and if Roy talks to her, he learns that she hates nobles because the marquess that owned her local village burned it to the ground "to prepare for Bern's attack." She then leaves the area.
The battle eventually ends with Legance dead. If Lilina survived the battle, Roy tells Lilina about what happened at Araphen, including the fact her father Hector is dead.
If Lilina did not survive the battle, Merlinus rushes to Roy and tells them that Bern's wyvern riders have arrived. Roy leaves the castle and confronts the enemy leader, Narcian; however, the confrontation is interrupted by the arrival of Etrurian forces led by the Mage General Cecilia and the Knight General Perceval. Realizing that he cannot win this battle, Narcian retreats and vows revenge. Perceval tells Roy that he only arrived because his king ordered him to do so, and the king gave the order because Cecilia opposed him until he agreed to help Lycia; Perceval then departs for Etruria, leaving Cecilia to "take care of the loose ends". Cecilia tells Roy that Etruria declared war on Bern using Lycia's call for aid as justification, and Ostia will benefit from Etruria's protection going forward.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
The last main chapter in Lycia is a long one. Recommended units are cavaliers, Shanna, Sue, Marcus, and Zelot, who can carry the slower units and the thieves. Chad is also a good option, since there are doors and chests with valuable treasures inside them. However, if the player was careful enough to buy one or two Chest Keys in the last chapter, which should go to the mounted units' inventories, Chad is not necessary.
The player is given two new units at the beginning of the chapter: Astolfo, a thief who starts beside Roy, and Lilina, who is in another room. She has no weapon to defend herself, and there is an archer who can kill her in two shots. In the first turn, Lilina should move to the upper left corner of the room, and in the second, to the upper right corner. The archer will leave after that. Astolfo can defend himself without too much trouble, unless he is surrounded by lance users.
In turn 6, three more units will join Roy's army: two knights and a mercenary. Since one of the knights and the mercenary are at a low level, perhaps the player would like not to move them to destroy the wall (which has only 10 HP left). They should be careful, though, and locate them so they are not hit by the nearby archers. Moreover, these new units are really close to the most dangerous part of the map, where a big cluster of enemies wait. The rest of the original forces can be picked one by one; the only dangers could be the mage with Aircalibur, which is effective against flying units, and the knight with a Killer Lance - if he lands a critical hit, the defending unit will most likely die.
There are two reinforcements groups in this chapter. The first one is composed by a thief and Cath (if she was not killed in Chapter 6), who will appear from the two southern stairs. Hopefully, they will move north, to where Lilina is, and open her door before going for the chests. Lilina can either wait there or move towards the main army; the latter is recommended, as it would not be good for her to meet the next wave of enemies. If the player desires, they can leave the thieves to open some chests... but if they steal any weapon, tome, or staff, they are lost forever. Only items can be stolen back from any unit's inventory. Once Roy talks to Cath, she will stop stealing.
The second reinforcement wave comes in turns 16, 17, 18, and 19. The archers and mercenaries will come up from the stairs, while the soldiers and knights will appear from the southwestern corner of the map. None of them are a real threat.
Legance is the first promoted boss, and as such, it can be a challenge to the player's units. A trained Lugh (Lilina will not be ready for him, and she will surely be killed) or strong sword-wieding units with an Armorslayer (Ogier comes with one) are recommended. Once he is defeated, Roy can seize the throne and the chapter will end with one of two possible endings. If Lilina survived the chapter, the player will go to an extra chapter, but if she died, the story will move to the Western Isles.
Trivia
- This map shares portions of and takes place at the same area as Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade's Chapter 29E/31H.
