Heh heh... My plan to get rid of Klimt has yielded some unexpected fruit. The head of Frelia's Prince Innes will make a fine gift to Grado.
— Pablo

Pablo (Japanese: パブロ Pablo) is a boss appearing in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. He is a high-ranking member of Carcino's Council of Elders, and is greedy for more power. Seeing Grado's military strength, he allies himself with the empire, and plans to murder Klimt, a fellow elder, for disagreeing with his decision to do so.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Role

Pablo appears as the boss of Chapters 10 and 13 of Eirika's route.

Pablo is responsible for the mercenary troop, led by Binks, attacking Eirika during Chapter 9.

During Chapter 10 Pablo is searching for Klimt so he can kill him. He also orders his mercenaries to attack Prince Innes of Frelia to garner Grado's trust. Pablo fails to locate Klimt and Eirika's forces arrive from the north, due to Binks having failed in stopping her, and rescues Innes while chasing off Pablo.

Pablo returns in Chapter 13, he is being hounded by Frelia's forces and attempts to meet up with Aias and Grado's forces. Doing so he inadvertently encounters Eirika's forces once again.

Technically speaking, it is possible to conclude Chapter 13 without killing Pablo; upon doing so his fate afterwards is not elaborated upon, though it can be presumed he is killed when Rausten reinforcements arrive to assist Eirika.

Personality

Pablo sees his actions, allying with Grado, as rational and the correct choice for Carcino's future. After finding himself at odds with fellow councilman Klimt he attempts to have him murdered and shows no remorse for this. Pablo is also unafraid to use money to get what he wants out of people.

When he is killed his last thoughts are of the loss of his gold; implying he has a particularly greedy nature.

Quotes

Battle quotes

No one can withstand the might of Grado... Logic dictates we join now or be subjugated later. I made the rational decision. The only decision!
— Pablo, in chapter 10 (Eirika's route) of The Sacred Stones.
Pablo: Yahh...!? You! You're...Prince Innes!
Innes: You're one of Carcino's councilmen. Trying to trap me is a mistake. Failing, an expensive one. I think it's time for you to learn how expensive.

— Against Innes in chapter 10 (Eirika's route) of The Sacred Stones.
Grrr... I've got more money then you've ever seen. What say you? Join me, and take a seat of power at my side.
— Pablo, in chapter 13 (Eirika's route) of The Sacred Stones.

Death quotes

Urrgh... N-no. I cannot die when there is such wealth to be had... Re-retreat! Mercenaries, to me!
— Pablo, in chapter 10 (Eirika's route) of The Sacred Stones.
Argh... It can't be...I... You can't have my gold... It's all...mine...
— Pablo, in chapter 13 (Eirika's route) The Sacred Stones.
