A Gift from Anna is a downloadable content xenologue chapter in Fire Emblem Fates. As a xenologue chapter, it does not officially bear a chapter number; if all xenologues are purchased and its list is viewed at the Dragon's Gate, A Gift from Anna is the thirteenth one from the top in the North American version of the game. A Gift from Anna is part of the second series of Japanese DLC releases and the first series of international DLC releases.
This chapter was first made available on October 1, 2015 in Japan, April 14, 2016 in North America, and July 7-8 in the PAL regions.
In this chapter, a generous Anna offers the player a choice of one of two special reclassing items otherwise only available in one of two other DLC chapters without the need for a battle. This chapter, unlike other DLC chapters, can only be played once; if attempted to be played a second time, a prompt will state the player has already received the item and go straight to the save screen.
- Main article: A Gift from Anna/Script
Anna welcomes the player into her shop and thanks him/her for stopping by; she then states she has a special item for them that day, and she's giving it away for free--and the player gets to pick which one they want. Anna first offers a Witch's Mark from the Witches' Trial chapter, then offers a Sighting Lens from the Ballistician Blitz chapter. Anna then asks the player which one they want. The player makes their selection at this point.
Regardless of which choice the player made, Anna states the player made a good choice, and they have taste; she then tells the player that if they ever want more, they go over to the corresponding chapter and complete it. Anna bids the player farewell and states she looks forward to their continued business (after first stating "money").
If you select "A Gift from Anna" from the "Play DLC" section of the Dragon's Gate after downloading, you may select and receive either the Sighting Lens OR the Witch's Mark. Only playable once.

- Despite being presented as a full chapter, A Gift from Anna lacks any maps and battles whatsoever, playing more like an interlude (such as A New Journey from The Sacred Stones). While there have been battle-free full chapters in the past (chapter 29x (31x Hector) of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade being one such example), this is the first example of a full chapter in the Fire Emblem series that lacks a map (assuming pre-split chapter 6 is counted together with each of the chapter 6s on each side of the split). These traits are shared with the second such chapter, Another Gift from Anna.
- Interestingly, A Gift from Anna is shorter than even other interlude sequences, despite being presented as a full chapter.
