“ | Cowards! Every last one of them! The great High Chancellor Roartz will not die in this miserable wasteland! | ” | — Roartz |
---|
Roartz (Japanese: ロアーツ ) is a High Chancellor to the Etrurian court, and the boss of chapter 20 of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade regardless of whether the player took the Ilia route or the Sacae route.
On the Ilia route, Murdock tasks Roartz to the defense of Edessa in Ilia in chapter 17; come chapter 20, Roy and his army approach Edessa at a time when Roartz has little in the way of reinforcements, as only the Ilian knights given direct orders by Murdock have remained loyal to Roartz, with the others reluctant to take on Roy and his army. This reluctance on the part of the Ilian knights allows Roy and his army to ultimately defeat Roartz.
On the Sacae route, Brunnya tasks Roartz to the defense of the outskirts of Bulgar in Sacae in chapter 17; come chapter 20, Roy and his army approach the Bulgar outskirts at a time when the remainder of the Djute clan are taking their time securely hiding the Mulagir prior to reinforcing Roartz. This slowing of pace on the part of the Djute allows Roy and his army to ultimately defeat Roartz.
