Palla (Japanese: パオラPaora) is a Pegasus Knight in the service of the Whitewings order of Macedon, under the command of Princess Minerva, and is the elder sister of fellow Whitewings Catria and Est. In the War of Shadows, she and the rest of the Whitewings were forced to comply with the whims of Dolhr through the hostage-taking of Minerva's sister Maria, but defected almost as soon as they heard that Marth had freed Maria from captivity. Three years later, she worked with Julian and Catria to resist Lykke's coup against Minerva and joined forces with Marth again.
Palla and the Whitewings were deployed to the skirmish of Lefcandith Valley under Harmein, but pulled out after Minerva refused to comply with Harmein's questionable tactics. Some time afterward, she and the other Whitewings had been scattered on different deployments to attempt to avert the possibility of defection; nonetheless, upon hearing of Maria's rescue and Minerva's alliance with Marth, Palla planned to join with them again.
In the battle for Gra, much to the disgust of King Jiol, Palla and Catria were deployed to assist Jiol in repelling Marth's army; instead, the two approached Marth and rejoined Minerva in his army.
In Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, promotion gains consist on giving the character as many points as necessary—the "x" value shown in the table—to reach the promoted class's base stats. If the character's stats are higher than their promoted class' base stats, they will not receive any bonus.

Palla and Catria travelled to Valentia in pursuit of the pirate Grieth, who had taken Est prisoner. The two encountered Celica at the Port of Zofia, and Palla explained their plight to her; the two encountered Celica again in a skirmish with pirates along Zofia's coast. After the fight, the two joined Celica's army to help in their search for Est.
In Gaiden, promotion gains give the character as many points as necessary—the "x" value shown in the table—to reach the promoted class' base stats. If the character's stats are higher than their promoted class' base stats, they will not receive any bonus; however, if all stats are higher, then they will receive +1 to HP.

Palla is one of the best units in the game, joining early with good bases at promotion level, and having good growths in most stats. While her speed growth is rather low, she starts 4 points away from capping the stat. Her weapon level of 12 means that she will be able to use all lances (when mounted) and swords (when dismounted) in the game at base.
The secret shop in Chapter 5 sells Skydrake Whips, which will be able to promote Palla into a Dracoknight as soon as one is obtained, allowing her to move 10 tiles unhindered by terrain in outdoor chapters. While she is weak to bows, Iote's Shield can be obtained in her join chapter to mitigate said weakness.
She, Minerva and Est formed a temporary truce with Prince Hardin of Aurelis and his knights, in order to work together to suppress an insurrection from Macedonian deserters which threatened the lives of Aurelian villagers.
Palla and the Whitewings are deployed to the skirmish of Lefcandith Valley under Harmein. When Minerva is defeated, Palla and her sisters leave the battlefield. Some time afterward, she and the other Whitewings are scattered on different deployments to avert the possibility of defection; nonetheless, upon hearing of Maria's rescue and Minerva's alliance with Marth, Palla planned to join with them again.
In the battle for Gra, much to the disgust of King Jiol, Palla and Catria were deployed to assist Jiol in repelling Marth's army; instead, the two approached Marth and rejoined Minerva in his army. When the war is over, she works with Minerva to restore Macedon to get her mind off her conflicted romantic feelings.
At any point, Palla can have conversations with Minerva and Est once she is recruited.

Palla joins the army in Chapter 14 of Shadow Dragon as a level 8 Pegasus Knight. Her base stats are good and her high lance level allows her to use Dragonpikes and Ridersbanes. Her speed growth is quite low, but her speed base is high, so she will still avoid getting doubled by most enemies even in higher difficulties, improving her survivability; however, enemy bow users will one-shot Palla in higher difficulties. She is a good user of the Dragonpike in her inventory, and can also use the Silver Lance.
Palla requires two levels to promote. Many units compete for Master Seals, but Palla is among the better candidates for promotion as Dracoknight is among the best promoted classes in the game. Palla has a stronger start than Catria, with a higher base lance rank, a higher level by three, and higher her base stats. However, Catria's speed growth is significantly better than Palla's, making Catria more likely to one-round enemies later in the game.

Palla joins at chapter 3 of New Mystery, where at that point she will most likely be among your strongest units. She comes with excellent bases in all areas besides magic, and she also has excellent growths in strength, HP and skill, but low growths in all other areas; however, considering her incredible bases, her low growths are quite a minor flaw and can be easily fixed with stat boosters. She also comes with a B rank in lances, allowing her to use almost any lance in the game, making her early game combat unparalleled. Despite not having the full access to all gender classes unlike the male characters, she still has very diverse reclass options such as cavalier, myrmidon and archer, all of which can allow her to be useful on practically every map in the game. She can also avoid being locked to E rank weapons in the aforementioned classes by promoting in her joining chapter, as she comes at level 10. Her only flaw is that because of her somewhat low growths in areas such as speed, she won't have the same endgame potential of units such as Kris or Catria, but her contributions through most of the game are not to be undermined, and this small flaw can easily be fixed by giving her statboosting items such as speedwings.
Overall Palla is an invaluable unit; where most pegasus knights are fairly frail and weak, Palla is instead incredibly bulky and strong when most of your other units are still somewhat weak, making her undoubtably one of the best units in the game and extremely useful on every difficulty.
In Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia promotion gains give the character as many points as necessary—the "x" value shown in the table—to reach the promoted class' base stats. If the character's stats are higher than their promoted class' base stats, they will not receive any bonus; however, if all stats are higher, then they will receive +1 to HP.

Palla joins alongside her sister Catria in Act 3 on Celica's side. She has high bases and a very high base level of 8 along with decent growth rates as well. Due to flying being invaluable on Celica's route Palla has excellent utility, she also has a great support partner in the form of her sister Catria who is the only member of the army that can keep up with Palla. Palla's main weakness is her somewhat low base speed, making her unable to double most enemies, along with a 30% growth in said area makes Palla seem fairly slow. She also gains EXP fairly slowly because of her high base level making it hard for her to promote to Falcon Knight for the Banish combat art and 12 speed in act 3. However if the player gives Palla one level normaly, give her the Necrodragon kill, the Golden apple from act 2 and 2 EXP fountains she can promote to Falcon Knight before the desert maps where she's most useful. You can also give her the Fruit of life and 3 HP fountains to make her incredibly bulky and a forged silver lance to make her damage output incredibly high. While it might seem quite strange to give so many resources to just one unit, it's important to understand how because of her flight she can pass the terrain heavy maps in Celica's route the quickest alongside her sisters and will one round the majority of the enemies as well, though she won't be as good in the final few maps compared to some other faster Dread Fighters. In slower playthroughs Palla won't stand out as much and will mostly be a fairly strong flyer and will be inferior to her sisters if both have been trained up as well, however if the player wishes to complete the game in the shortest amount of turns necessary then Palla is an invaluable unit.
In comparison to Catria and Est
Catria joins at the same time as Palla, she has comparable growths and bases to Palla, but is quite a bit faster making her seem the overall better unit. However, despite her higher speed Catria and Palla are mostly in the same speed tier, meaning that Palla will double the majority of enemies that Catria will as well and thanks to her higher strangth Palla will deal more damage. Palla also comes with a higher base level allowing her to promote sooner. This isn't to say that Catira is bad, as she is still an incredibly strong flyer and will usually be a bit better than Palla when trained up and ultimately you should use both. Est is vastly inferior to both her sisters as she comes later than both of her sisters, at a lower level with worse bases and only slightly better growths. While Est will be the strongest out of the three when trained up, Palla and Catria are both still better thanks to needing fewer resources to contribute to the army.
There are four different variations of Palla available to Heroes, three of which are tied to her storyline appearance in Mystery of the Emblem, one of which also has a dual-credit with Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, and the fourth of which is tied to her storyline appearance in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. The normal variation of Palla is one of the characters available to be summoned by players from the game's initial launch. A spring variation of Palla was made available between the period of March 19, 2019 through April 19, 2019 as part of the summoning event surrounding the Regal Rabbits update. A young variation of Palla (the one with the Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light dual-credit) was made available between the period of April 20, 2020 through May 20, 2020 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the The Start of It All update; this variation, despite having two partners in Catria and Est, is a Duo Hero. A fourth variation of Palla, based on her Shadows of Valentia incarnation as a Falcon Knight, is one of the characters added to the game in the Serpent's Whispers update, and became available for summoning by players on June 8, 2021.
