Hector
| ||||||||||||||||
|
Hector (Japanese: ヘクトル, Hector) is a character who appears in both Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. In the first game, he is the marquess of Ostia, a city in the country of Lycia on the continent of Elibe. He is the father of Lilina, a young girl who aids Roy in his journey. He is not a playable character, but he can be playable as a general on the Trial Maps after finishing the whole story three times.
In Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, the prequel to The Binding Blade, he is the seventeen-year-old[2] friend of Eliwood and the younger brother of Uther, the current marquess of Ostia. This makes his age in The Binding Blade 37. In this game, he has the Lord class, as he is a main character. He first appears in a house in Chapter 7 of Lyn's tale, in which he says Eliwood is late for their regular sparring. Later, he appears in Chapter 12 of Eliwood's route, in which he arrives from Ostia to help Eliwood find his father. Alternatively, in Hector's route, he appears in Chapter 11, in which he is sneaking out of Ostia to find Eliwood. Afterwards, in both routes, he leads the army throughout the rest of the game.
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Role
Hector is the leader of the Lycia Alliance Army, Marquess Ostia, and the leader of the Lycia Alliance. He is the father of Lilina and is friends with Eliwood. He and his army is overtaken at a base on the border of Lycia early on in the game, though Roy does rescue him. Hector survived the torture, but sustained major wounds and died after the battle. He gave Roy the order to lead the Lycia Alliance Army.
After hearing the news, Lilina is deeply upset, but she knows she must stay strong.
Hector is playable on the trial maps after beating the game three times. He is a general.

Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Role
As The Blazing Blade is a prequel to The Binding Blade, this game has Hector as a teenager twenty years before the events of The Binding Blade. In this game, Hector is the teenage friend of Eliwood. He helps Eliwood on his quest to defeat Nergal. He first appears in Chapter 7 of Lyn's tale in a house, saying that Eliwood is late for their monthly sparring match.
He then appears in Chapter 12 of Eliwood's tale from the north to help Eliwood defeat some bandits. He accompanies Eliwood to help him find his missing father Elbert. However, after they find that Elbert is dead, their journey's focus switches to defeating the Black Fang, a mysterious organization whose leader killed Eliwood's father. Hector, Eliwood, and Lyn lead their forces together to defeat Nergal, the leader of the Black Fang.
In Hector's tale, Hector is the main character. In his version of Chapter 11, he escapes from the castle of Ostia from his older brother Uther, the marquess, to go find his friend Eliwood. He then finds Eliwood at the same place in Chapter 12 of Eliwood's route. The story is largely the same, but Hector is the primary main character instead of Eliwood. Additionally, he goes to several more places than Eliwood.

Personality and character
Hector has a quite reckless personality, which shows in many of his conversations. He is never afraid to speak his mind, and often can be quite blunt because of this. However, he still cares greatly for the others, such as when he tells Florina not to cry[3], or when he tells Serra that he will be her family.[4] He is quite enthusiastic about fighting and sparring, [2] He trains very hard with to improve his axefighting skills. Hector lets his emotions get the best of him at times; for example, when Leila is killed, he vows to destroy all of the Black Fang, since he doesn't know who killed her.[5]
In Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Hector is the younger brother of Uther, the current marquess of Ostia. He is a close friend of Eliwood, the son of Elbert, the marquess of Pherae. Oswin, an armored knight, and Matthew, a spy, are two fighters from Ostia ordered by Uther to help him; Hector considers them close friends. His parents are dead from illness, which is why his brother is the current marquess. Twenty years later, in The Binding Blade, he has a daughter named Lilina. He vows to protect her until he dies, and early in the game, he is killed by Zephiel, the prince of Bern.
When Hector and Eliwood were young, they were with other young lords in a room waiting for their parents, who were pledging oaths. As a warrior's custom, he cut his hand and shook the hand of Eliwood, who had done the same. [6] He and Eliwood have been sparring every two months since they were twelve, with an almost-even record of wins and losses.[2] They are in disagreement over the win and loss records, but they have had either 30 or 31 matches, meaning that they are probably seventeen years old.
