Etymology and other languages

Language Name Definition, etymology and notes
English Anima Latin for "animating principle", often interpreted as "spirit" or "soul".[1]
Japanese Inner Essence. The meaning is difficult to translate into a single concise word and, among other things can be described as, reason, logic, or "the natural order of things".[2] Possibly invoking the Chinese li[3] it is a philosophical concept relating to the "rational principle" of nature. This meaning appears to be reflected in the fact that many characters possessing this affinity trend towards more logical or "rule-following" personalities.
Spanish Ánima Anima
