Double Duel is the multiplayer mode of FE13. It is a mode where two players, each with their own copy of the game and a local wireless connection, team up and fight arena-style battles against computer-controlled opponents. ==How it works==
Summary
At the start of a Double Duel session, each player selects three of their characters to participate in the battle. Each turn, each player chooses one of their characters to fight for them in that turn. Both active characters fight paired up; on odd-numbered turns, the host player acts as the lead unit and the guest player acts as the support unit, with the roles reversing on even-numbered turns. As the players' characters are paired up, the Dual Strike and Dual Guard mechanics are in play and have a chance at activation. Weapon durability and range do not come into play, and if a player character drops to 0 HP during the match, they still return once the match ends. The side that attacks first during a turn depends on the Speed stat--whichever of the units of the lead player and computer opponent have higher speed goes first on a turn. Once one of the computer opponent's units are defeated, each player unit still standing recover 5% of their maximum HP while defeated units are revived with 1 HP.

Players that successfully complete a Double Duel will be rewarded with Renown and an item. The first time a player clears a specific Double Duel, they'll receive a special pre-determined item; subsequent wins of the same Double Duel reward random, more common items. Teams that choose to yield and quit a Double Duel while still having units standing will receive a reduced amount of Renown.

Double Duel is the multiplayer mode of Fire Emblem Awakening. It is a mode where two players, each with their own copy of the game and a local wireless connection team up and fight arena-style battles against computer-controlled opponents. Double Duel is unlocked along with other wireless functions upon clearing Chapter 3.

The side that attacks first during a turn depends on the speed stat—whichever of the units of the lead player and computer opponent have higher speed goes first on a turn. Once one of the computer opponent's units are defeated, each player unit still standing recover 5% of their maximum HP while defeated units are revived with 1 HP.

Players that successfully complete a Double Duel will be rewarded with Renown and an item. The first time a player clears a specific Double Duel, they will receive a special pre-determined item; subsequent wins of the same Double Duel reward random, more common items. Teams that choose to yield and quit a Double Duel while still having units standing will receive a reduced amount of Renown.

There are a total of 22 different Double Duels in the game. Ten of them are unlocked by default; the other twelve are unlocked through SpotPass.
