Limited Hero Battle

Limited Hero Battle is a game mode in Fire Emblem Heroes, and one of a number of types of the game's Special Maps. Unlike other types of Special Maps, Limited Hero Battles do not use distinct maps designed specifically for it; instead, they take maps created for other Hero Battle variants, such as Grand and Legendary, and make players use teams with restricted requirements in order to clear them. Examples of restricted requirements involve using only characters from specific games and limiting characters with specific skills. Players can win Hero Feathers and Divine Code: Part 1s by clearing these battles.

Rewards

Rewards vary based on which Hero Battle variant a Limited Hero Battle mode map originated from.

Rewards tables for other modes of origin will be added once such a map run formally debuts as a Limited Hero Battle.

Trivia

• Game-based character restrictions use the same text as in the game-based character sort function introduced in the same update as the Limited Hero Battle mode (Dreaming Reality). The text for the games based in Archanea, however, reads "FE: Shadow Dragon/(New) Mystery of the Emblem". This text implies the inclusion of Mystery of the Emblem, Shadow Dragon, and New Mystery of the Emblem while excluding Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light; at the point in time Limited Hero Battle mode was added to the game, there had yet to be a single character credited to Shadow Dragon and exactly one credited to Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, with the one character credited to the latter admitted into events with the Archanea-based text.
• Performance-skill based restrictions specifically mentions only Sing and Dance. Were it not for text within other performing skills stating that they are treated the same as those two skills, the restriction text would have otherwise implied Gray Waves, Gentle Dream, and Play were allowed in unlimited amounts.
• The Limited Hero Battle iteration of the Robin: Fell Vessel Legendary Hero Battle is the first map in Heroes to include multiple difficulties not to include a stated Normal difficulty, making Hard the easiest difficulty among the selection; this is due to shifting difficulty settings between native Legendary Hero Battles and Limited Hero Battle. With stated Normal difficulties in Legendary Hero Battle-based Limited Hero Battles starting from the third event onward, the Limited Hero Battle iterations of Robin: Fell Vessel and Lyn: Lady of the Wind are likely to remain the only multiple-difficuly battles without stated Normal difficulties for quite some time.
