Eir (Japanese: エイル Eir) is a princess of an underworld-themed kingdom, and a character who debuts as a major protagonist in Book III of Fire Emblem Heroes.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
Eir is a Mythic Hero, added to the cast of the game at the launch of Book III, and is the first original character introduced in that book to be playable. Eir was made available for summoning as part of the first Legendary Hero summoning focus released on December 11, 2018, the day after the Book II update, and a 5★ Eir can also be obtained by clearing Chapter 1 of Book III (released the day prior).
In Book III, Hel gives Eir the order to return to the living world in order to gain the inhabitants' trust, then kill them all. Eir is reluctant, but follows her orders anyway. She secretly escapes Hel's realm and battles the Order of Heroes, but is defeated. After her defeat, she requests that Alfonse kill her, but he refuses because he does not want to kill someone who willingly surrenders their life. Eir settles for being taken prisoner by the Order instead.
Just before Alfonse meets his father, Gustav, Eir expresses her desire to fight alongside the Order, though she refuses to explain why. This makes Anna suspicious, but she agrees to her request, on the condition that Eir be killed if she shows any sign of betrayal.
Eir provides exposition about Hel and her realm to the Order as they make their way to Hel's dominion; she witnesses her mother kill Gustav along the way. In Hel's realm, Eir reveals that she was descended from a divine dragon, allowing her to revive the next day after she is killed. Hel exploited this ability by killing Eir once every day to increase her power until Eir was down to her last life. Shortly after, Hel appears to Eir to remind her of her mission, with Eir starting to have second thoughts about it since the Order treated her kindly.
