- This article is about the character from Thracia 776 commonly referred to as "Dagda". For the country in Three Houses, see Dagda.

“ | It ain't like anybody can replace Eyvel, but you still got a long way to go before this war is lost. An' hey, captured ain't dead, right? We'll get Eyvel back—together. | ” | — Dagdar, to Leif |
---|
Dagdar (Japanese: ダグダ Dagdar) is a Thracian ex-bandit, the leader of a group of brigands based in Mt. Violdrake, and a friend and ally of Eyvel and the Fiana Freeblades. Along with his daughter Tanya and subordinate Marty, he was one of Leif's first allies into his liberation army against Manster.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
Role
Dagdar, Tanya and Marty arrived in Fiana during Leif and Eyvel's fight to free it from the Manster occupation sent by Raydrik, and quickly joined with the Freeblades to drive the occupation out. He accompanied Leif until his capture by Raydrik at Fort Kelbeth, at which point he retreated to Mt. Violdrake to muster his men for a direct assault on Manster.
Back at his mansion in Mt. Violdrake, however, he was subjected to a mutiny led by his former minion Gomez, and he and Tanya were attacked by his former band. They were saved by Leif, who had arrived while on his way to Tahra, and rejoined his army.

Personality and character
Despite his status as a bandit boss, Dagdar is a kind-hearted man; August theorises that he and many of his men were the victims of circumstance of being born in the impoverished nation that is Thracia, and that he was abandoned by his parents as a child and forced to grow up as a bandit.[2] By default he is more inclined to peace and talking problems through, but will gladly take violent exception to being abused by his inferiors/[3] He possesses an immense mutual respect for and confidence in Eyvel, considering her to be far superior to him as a warrior.[4]

- ↑ "Leif: I pity Dagdar and his men, truly, but... Why couldn't they just earn their food through honest labor?
August: And where would they labor? Their very land was infertile. Many of these men were children of Thracian farmers. Abandoned by their parents, they turned to banditry out of sheer necessity. Their choice was simple: steal or starve." — Leif and August, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - ↑ "Dagda: Listen up, Gomez! I got no reason to fight you an' yer boys. Think about this afore you do somethin' rash.
Gomez: Naw, it's too late fer you to be makin' excuses, Dagdar! The soil itself don't want us here! Nothin' grows! Tryin' to till a field is like sawing through rock! All I wanted was a full belly, but you let that wench Eyvel cheat you outta the good land! She's got you wrapped around her little finger! You that desperate fer company that you'd let everybody starve fer a chance to get lucky? Shame on you, old man!
Dagdar: What'd you say?! Hmph, you talk big fer a glorified errand-boy![...] Fine! You want yerself a fight so bad, you got one!" — Dagdar and Gomez, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - ↑ "It's good to have ya back, Eyvel. I been tryin' to help these lads as best I could, but nobody could ever replace you." — Dagdar, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
