Lost Bloodlines 1 (Japanese: 王対王 紋章編 King vs. King: Emblem Chapter) is a downloadable content xenologue chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening. As a xenologue chapter, it does not officially bear a chapter number; if all xenologues are purchased and its list is viewed at the Outrealm Gate, Lost Bloodlines 1 is the seventh one from the top in the North American version of the game. Officially in Japan and unofficially in North America, Lost Bloodlines 1 is part of the first series of DLC releases, a distinction that does not exist in the PAL regions.

Plot

Chrom and Old Hubba have met up in a space between Outrealms, where Old Hubba notices Chrom has returned; Chrom asks Old Hubba if this meeting means the Shepherds are headed to one of the Outrealms Old Hubba spoke of, and Outrealm torn by warring Einherjar that have minds and wills of their own, to which Old Hubba confirms. Old Hubba also says he has good news: Chrom will have allies, as Old Hubba has managed to fool one of the opposing sides into thinking they summoned the Shepherds; Old Hubba told that army that he said he foresaw things and then played up his age to throw off any suspicions, a situation Chrom says sounds familiar. Battle preparations begin as the player arrives in an Outrealm based around Jungby Castle in Grannvale, Evans Castle in Verdane, and two villages in between in the world of Jugdral, in what appears to be a spring season setup.

Once preparations are complete, over at Evans Castle, Quan reports in to Sigurd revealing that Leif has sent a messenger--Leif has managed to splinter the enemy, to which Sigurd praises Quan over Leif's efforts; Quan states that they should attack now while the enemy ranks are thin, to which Sigurd agrees. Sigurd then asks that someone send a messenger over to Seliph, bidding him to march from Jungby Castle and bring down their combined might on the Archaneans, they'll crush them from both sides. Over at Jungby Castle, Fee arrives on the scene and tells Seliph she has a message from his father, to which Seliph asks to read it; Fee repeats the information revealed to the player by Sigurd, after which Seliph agrees and readies his men. An allied force appears south of Evans Castle, to which Horace reveals that their force has been decimated and Katarina reveals that there's not much time before the Jugdrali army finish them off; Horace notices that their force is vastly outnumbered, to which Katarina states she has a plan. Horace asks her to reveal the plan quickly, to which Katarina states she's summoned aid from another world, and they should appear near King Marth's party at any moment, with Katarina's group holding out. Chrom notices that two mighty armies are on the field set against each other, and Robin reveals that one of them is the one that believes they summoned the Shepherds--but Robin doesn't know which one; they state that a few moments of battle should sort out that matter quickly enough, to which Chrom confirms. The battle begins at this point.

After the end of the first player phase, Eyvel tells Leif that an unknown force has appeared to the northeast; Leif deduces that the Shepherds just appeared out of the ether and states they cannot be of this world, and asks if their group wasn't the ones that summoned them, with Eyvel stating that the Shepherds must be with the enemy. Eyvel states that this group should go on the offensive and assist Sigurd and Seliph; Leif remains silent, to which Eyvel asks if Leif doesn't agree, with Leif stating something feels odd about what's going on. Leif asks Eyven if she can even remember how this battle began and why they're fighting in this area, to which Eyvel states that the despicable Archaneans started it--then wonders if she's correct, to which Leif doubtedly agrees. Eyvel tells Leif he needs to clear his mind of doubt, hesitation could cost him his life, to which Leif confirms. After the end of the first enemy phase, Catria tells King Marth that the Shepherds have arrived to the northeast, to which King Marth confirms that the Shepherds are the otherworldly army Katarina summoned and that their group can finally strike back; King Marth asks his group to move, that it's time to set this land free.

Once the battle ends, Chrom states the battle is won, with Robin adding it is for now and Chrom wonders about that statement; Robin mentions that Old Hubba said the Einherjar can't be vanquished with a single victory, with Chrom stating that the Shepherds may have more trials to face in this Outrealm, to which Robin agrees. Chrom asks the Shepherds if they should head back for now, but Robin asks Chrom to wait--he/she asks him to look at what one of the men found in the area. Chrom notices it as an Einherjar card that says "The Sage-Lord Leif"; Chrom notes that Leif was the hero of Thracia, and that the Shepherds could use a warrior like that.

Back in the space between Outrealms, a conversation will then ensue between Leif and the player, with the choices the player makes affecting what Leif says next. At the end of the conversation, the player will then be given an offer to add Leif to their active roster, which they can either accept or decline.

Website summary

King Marth, the kind ruler of Archanea, and Seliph, the noble ruler of Jugdral, continue their ceaseless battle in the Outrealm. Chrom decides to aid Marth in a bid to defeat Seliph's army.[1]
