Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Byleth wields Areadbhar along with several other Heroes' Relics as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is used in their forward smash, their forward and back aerials, as well as in their side special. In these attacks, Areadbhar has tremendous reach, even longer than most swords in the game. The lance has a powerful sweet spot at the very tip, but hitting enemies with the shaft deals much weaker damage and knockback.

• Areadbhar |
From Aréadbhair, a spear wielded by the god Lugh in Irish mythology. The spear is sometimes known as the "Slaughterer" in certain translations, a possible inspiration for the Atrocity combat art. This name for Lugh's spear is not attested prior to the 17th century AD, long after the Christianization of Ireland, so it is not a genuine mythological name. |
