Reinforcements
- At the start of enemy phase 1, four ships will land and connect to the main map. They bring the following reinforcements:
- Nader from the northernmost ship
- 4/5 Bow Knights; two from the southwestern ship, two/three from the southeastern ship
- 4 Wyvern Lords; two from the northernmost ship, two from the center ship
- 1 Bow Knight with a battalion from the southwestern ship (Maddening only)
- 1 Wyvern Lord with a battalion from the center ship (Maddening only)
- Turns 2–6; halted when Nader is defeated
- 1 Wyvern Lord from the northernmost ship
- Every second turn from turn 8 (Normal)/turn 4 (Hard/Maddening) onward
- 1/2 Warrior(s) from the southwestern gate
- Note: Only three/six can exist on the field at once, resumes appearing as soon as there is available space. These reinforcements are halted when the Warrior guarding the gate is defeated.
- Every second turn from turn 12 (Normal)/turn 4 (Hard/Maddening) onward
- 1/2 Paladin(s) from the northwestern gate
- Note: Only three/six can exist on the field at once, resumes appearing as soon as there is available space. These reinforcements are halted when the Paladin guarding the gate is defeated.
- Every second turn from turn 16 (Normal)/turn 4 (Hard/Maddening) onward
- 1/2 Sniper(s) from the northeastern gate
- Note: Only three/six can exist on the field at once, resumes appearing as soon as there is available space. These reinforcements are halted when the Sniper guarding the gate is defeated.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Maddening
The Alliance's final stand warrants a massive spike in difficulty. This chapter introduces enemy master class units, and throws at you arguably the best one. The Wyvern Lords will have an attack speed of 34, so most likely even your fastest adequately leveled units such as Petra or Ferdinand will be unable to double them. The Bow Knights are capable of shredding tanks due to Poison Strike. Worst of all, if you thought you could simply charge right and deal with Nader, the reinforcements from the city all come out on the enemy's turn 4, actively move towards you.
Stride is easily one of the best Gambits in the game, and this strategy counts on you having acquired at least one of the two possible Stride users (Seiros Holy Monks or Gautier Knights) for the Crimson Flower route, as well as a Dancer. Thanks to the starting layout, with a single stride usage you can hit 6 units from turn 1. Have your 6 strongest units be on the right side of your starting formation, a Dancer positioned on the far left, and a flier such as a Wyvern Rider positioned on the top left. Prioritize bringing sword users, as the enemy is mostly axes. Hit the right 6 with Stride and move them to take out Lysithea's group. Byleth should be capable of one-shotting her with The Sword of the Creator, so all you need to do is clear the Warrior in front of her to give them an opening.
While that is happening, you'll want your flier to move up and take out all three gates as soon as possible. Edelgard can do this very well, and with Aymr's Raging Storm, she can act on landing an attack, making it quite possible to close all three gates before turn 4, nullifying the reinforcements.
The two remaining components of Claude's strategy are Almyra's army and Hilda. The initial Wyvern Lord spawn will be right by the city's entrance, although the Bow Knights will still need one more turn before they'll become a problem. Using a Dancer, you should be able to dance your Stride user on the first turn to move them up a bit while remaining in the Dancer's movement range. On your second turn, your Dancer should then dance for them again, putting your Stride user in range of the 6 units you sent up on your first turn. This should give you the 6 attacks necessary to deal with Hilda and her Warriors, while also moving out of range of the Wyvern Lords. Hilda has an absurd 81 might, hence if she gets to move first, someone is dying (style points if she uses Apocalyptic Flame). Weaken her with magical attacks before going in close. Nader's Wyvern Lords and Bow Knights can be dealt with on the third turn now that the town is clear. Remain in the town until you've killed all of the Wyvern Lords (they spawn only until turn 6).
All of the remaining threats can be dealt with via simple baiting strategies. Put your highest avoid unit in range of one or two War Masters/Warriors/Snipers/Wyvern Lords to pull them over to kill them. Try to kill Nader before he drops below 25% health, otherwise Defiant Avoid will ruin your day. Due to his bow, Claude can actually be surrounded from all four sides for the ally boosts. Using gambits and combat arts that outrange him such as Meteor and Deadeye, you can chip him low enough to put him in lethal range. Have Byleth or Edelgard land the final blow to decide the fate of the Alliance's leader.
