Zahras

Zaharas as it appears in Warriors: Three Hopes.

Country

None

Appearance(s)

Zaharas is a location in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. It is an empty void entirely seperate from the other locations in the games, and can only be accessed through a special spell that is cast by members of Those Who Slither in the Dark and requires the sacrifice of another member of the group. It can only be left with the help of supernatural powers.

History

The history of Zaharas is not explained in either game, though in Warriors: Three Hopes, it is implied that Epimenides has a connection to the place, as he gains the power to distord space around the player's units and to conjure a barrier in Zaharas. Additionally, Zaharas is destroyed after Epimenides is defeated and killed.

Appearances

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Byleth is sent to Zaharas after Solon sacrificed Kronya to cast a forbidden spell. While trapped in Zaharas, Sothis confirms her true identity as a goddess to Byleth. She then tells Byleth that only her power can release Byleth from it, and grants her power to Byleth as she lacks a physical form of her own. With her power, Byleth uses the Sword of the Creator to cut themself free from Zaharas. In the following battle, Solon claims he can send Byleth back to Zaharas should he defeat them.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

In Warriors: Three Hopes, Zaharas is visited if Byleth has been recruited into the player's army in any given route. If this condition is met, Shez will be controlled by Epimenides. In the following chapter, Solon attempts to use the chaos to defeat the player's army. After the chapter concludes, he attempts to retreat, but is killed by the controlled Shez. Through his sacrifice, Epimenides manages to trap Shez, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude in Zaharas. In Zaharas, Epimenides gains a physical form, and attempts to finish all three nations' leaders off at once. With their help, Shez manages to defeat Epimenides, causing Zaharas to collapse and freeing Shez, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude.

Other appearances

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

As Byleth's reveal trailer is modelled after the cutscene where Byleth is trapped in Zaharas in Three Houses, Zaharas briefly appears in their reveal trailer. Unlike the original game, Byleth escapes Zaharas by accepting the invitation to join the game's roster. Solon comments on this by claiming that joining Super Smash Bros. "consumes even the darkness itself".
