- Not to be confused with Crossroads.

You heard who we're up against, yeah? Jeralt's Mercenaries. Gonna be one hell of a fight if true, especially if the Ashen Demon is here. Don't like a smidge of what I've heard about that fella...or was it a woman?

Crossed Roads (Japanese: 運命の交差 Intersection of Fate) is the zeroth chapter of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
Plot
- Main article: Crossed Roads/Script
In Imperial Year 1179, after a brief dream about Saints Seiros, Cethleann, Cichol, Macuil, and Indech taking part in the War of Heroes, the mercenary Shez takes part in a battle with a rival mercenary company led by Jeralt and his child, the infamous Ashen Demon Byleth. Shez's comrades are wiped out by Byleth, and Shez themself is nearly killed battling Byleth. As Byleth prepares to execute them, Shez suddenly hears a mysterious voice and is granted overwhelming power. However, this new power is still not enough to defeat Byleth, who leaves them alive after Jeralt completes their mission and orders a retreat. Afterwards, Shez collapses and meets the bearer of the voice, Arval, in a vision. Arval explains that they are the only thing keeping Shez alive and that in their current state, they stand no chance against Byleth. Shez vows to train themself to exact revenge.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.
|
This is a very straightforward tutorial battle. Just follow the on-screen instructions and you won't have any trouble. When made to fight Byleth, you cannot damage them meaningfully and they will rend you asunder in a few hits, so focus on dodging and staying alive whenever they're on the battlefield.
Trivia
- When naming Byleth, if the player has save data from Three Houses, the name of the most recently played Byleth will act as the default suggestion. If that name is the same one the player had already given to Shez, however, it will revert back to suggesting Byleth.
- Despite this, there is nothing stopping the player from giving both Shez and Byleth the same name.
