The End of the Alliance/Script
Four months have passed since the battle between Leicester and Almyra. Claude summons the Golden Deer and announces that due to the Alliance Roundtable's inability to act decisively in times of war, the Leicester Alliance is being reorganized into the Leicester Federation, with Claude as its first king. Afterwards, Lorenz, Claude, and Judith discuss how civil unrest has erupted in the Federation territories of Burgundy, Siward, and Albany, the three lords of those territories may be planning to defect to Faerghus, and the Knights of Seiros have been spotted in the area.
Edelgard and Hubert arrive to formally negotiate an end to hostilities between Adrestia and Leicester. Claude accepts Edelgard's assertion that the Central Church is corrupt and that Rhea must be removed from power to ensure a brighter future for Fódlan. The two enter a military alliance against the Kingdom and Church. Afterwards, Claude justifies his actions by stating that the balance of power in Fódlan is shifting and he does not want Leicester to be left holding the short straw when the dust settles. Shamir reports that a battle has erupted between Imperial and Church forces in Ailell, the Valley of Torment. Claude declares his intention to tear down the stagnant old traditions of Fódlan and orders his troops to mobilize to rescue Imperial forces.
The Federation arrives at Ailell, where Randolph is leading the Empire against the Knights of Seiros and Catherine. Claude delays relieving Randolph in order to surround the Knights and protect his own troops, allowing Catherine to kill Randolph and wipe out the Imperial forces before being slain herself. In the aftermath, Shez and Judith angrily berate Claude for leaving Randolph to die, and Claude agrees to rethink his leadership strategy.
