A Clash of Ambitions is one possible fourteenth chapter of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes on the Scarlet Blaze route. It is reached if the player previously killed Jeralt in Chapter 10.

Edelgard decides to link directly up with Alliance forces and attack Galatea territory from the east. Meanwhile, Rhea convinces Dimitri to aid her in retaking Garreg Mach Monastery from the Empire in the hopes of scoring a decisive moral victory. The two agree to sneak into the monastery through Ailell, the Valley of Torment. Claude correctly deduces their strategy, and Edelgard elects to face the Kingdom and Church head-on in Ailell. However, unbeknownst to the Empire, Byleth clandestinely approaches Claude and convinces him to betray Edelgard. When the Empire and Alliance reach Ailell, Claude declares war on both the Empire and Kingdom in order to claim Fódlan for himself. The Imperial forces drive off the Kingdom/Church and Alliance in a massive three-way battle, potentially resulting in Claude's death. The Sothis-possessed Byleth appears after the battle to claim Shez's head in revenge for Jeralt's death. Shez battles and finally slays the Ashen Demon. Arval celebrates their victory and notes that they feel like they have finally completed a seemingly endless quest, but Shez only feels hollow. In the aftermath, Edelgard wonders why Rhea was not present during the battle. Ferdinand realizes there must be a hidden passage from Ailell to Garreg Mach, and that the monastery is in danger as they speak. Edelgard hastens to their rescue.
