“ | I wandered into Manster while looking for our father, and the people were so bad off I just couldn't leave them. | ” | — Hawk, to Femina |
---|
(Japanese: ホーク Hawk) is a Silessean mage, and Femina's elder brother. In his searches for his missing father, he travelled through the Manster District and became involved in the struggles against the Grannvale Empire's occupation of the region, joining Seliph's revolutionary army after liberating Manster.
Hawk is Ced's substitute character, filling his role in the story and gameplay if Ferry died or failed to be married in the course of the first generation.
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
Role
Hawk was in Manster Castle at the time of Seliph's revolution army sweeping the Manster District. By the time Seliph's army had slain Bloom at Conote, Hawk had successfully wrested control of Manster, only to find that Thracian knights were approaching the castle. Encouraging the people of Manster to flee for Conote, Hawk remained behind to defend Manster from the assault led by Princess Altena and Coulter. In this effort, he was approached by Seliph, who recruited him into the revolution force.

Personality and character
Hawk possesses a strong devotion to the welfare of others, and despite having no stake in the fight for Manster he gave up on his search for his father in order to help the Manster people.[1] Even so, he is exceptionally hard on himself, as despite fighting his best he still considers himself a failure for being unable to save everyone.[2]

Trivia
- During the development of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, Hawk was reportedly set to appear in the story role filled by Ced in the final version, with base stats of 14 Magic/17 Skill/14 Speed/12 Defense/13 Resistance/9 Constitution; this information appears to stem from a point in development where Resistance actually existed in the game. Unlike the other Genealogy of the Holy War characters cited as having a planned role during the game's development, Hawk does not have an unused portrait hiden in the final game's data.[3]
