Roshea (Japanese: ロシェ Roshe) is a member of the Aurelis knights. During most of the War of Shadows, he was one of the knights serving under Prince Hardin, working to combat the Macedon occupation force and to protect Princess Nyna. Afterward, he was one of the founding members of the Wolfguard. At the height of the War of Heroes, when the Wolfguard was summoned to Archanea by Hardin to provide reinforcements against the impending Altean army, Roshea was the first (and only in the original game) member of the Wolfguard to question Hardin's motivations and sanity in opposing Marth.
Role
Roshea was a member of Hardin's four-strong squad of knights in the resistance against Macedon, forced into a mountain fortress after the castle had been claimed by Macedonian forces. Upon the arrival of Marth in Aurelis, Roshea, Hardin and the other Aurelis knights rode to accompany them in the battle to reclaim the Aurelis castle, and from there fought in the united Altea/Aurelis/Archanea army for the rest of the War of Shadows.

- In Mystery of the Emblem, promotion gains for HP and weapon level consist of giving the character as many points as necessary—the "x" value shown in the table—to reach the promoted class's base value. If the character's value for one of those two stats is higher than their promoted class's base value, they will not receive any bonus in that stat.
Book 2
Role
At Emperor Hardin's request, the Wolfguard were deployed to Pales as reinforcements for Marth's impending march on the Archanean capital. En route, the group encountered Marth's army passing through Adria Pass, and launched an ambush upon them. Roshea expressed his doubts about Hardin's claims of the Altean army's motivation, and so when the King of Aurelis arrived to order the Wolfguard back to Aurelis, Roshea travelled to Knorda Market to await Marth, and there joined his army.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.
|
Whatever due to programming oversight or not, Roshea maintains his growths in both Book 1 and 2. In Book 1, this can potentially make Roshea one of the best Cavaliers/Paladins in the War of Shadows part of the game. In Book 2 however, Roshea arrives quite late in the game (Chapter 19 - The Last Decisive Battle) and granted the player has kept his other Cavaliers/Paladin's in good condition, Roshea may not offer much.
Role
Roshea was one of the Aurelian knights who, under Hardin, joined forces with Princess Minerva and the Whitewings to deal with deserters from the Macedon army who were attacking Aurelian villages.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.
|
Roshea joins at the start of Chapter 5 as a level 3 Cavalier with very low base stats. Roshea's weapon ranks are very low, with an E-rank in swords and a D-rank in lances. This prevents him from using effective weapons without investment. The best weapons he can use are Javelins and Steel Lances. Having access to them is better than using Iron Lances, but does not help mitigate his poor base stats.
Roshea has no good base stats, but his low speed is the most significant. He is too slow to double enemies at base level, and he will get doubled in higher difficulties. Since his defenses are also poor, he will get one-rounded by all enemies except the weakest ones. Roshea's growths are also low, so this terrible base performance is never compensated. His 10% speed growth prevents him from ever reaching doubling thresholds. In higher difficulties, and even in lower difficulties, he will get doubled forever. Reclassing him to a faster class is an option, but then he will lose his D-rank in lances, his best selling point. A D-rank in lances is unimpressive to begin with, but Roshea has nothing else to offer.
Roshea is a unit with a large number of weaknesses and almost no strengths. Unless the player must use him because they lost their other units, he is best left on the bench.
Role
As in Mystery of the Emblem, at Emperor Hardin's request, the Wolfguard were deployed to Pales as reinforcements for Marth's impending march on the Archanean capital. During the battle, Wolf, Sedgar and Vyland returned as reinforcements, and Roshea convinced Vyland to stand down and ally with Marth.
